We've all heard the Democrats consistently try to link together Bush and McCain, but many fail to realize that Obama has his own baggage with a Democratically controlled House and Senate that currently have a 9% positive rating. It's been very clear that they made many promises when they were swept into power in 2006 but since then have been characterized by many as a "Do-Nothing Congress."

It's also been clearly pointed out that Obama has never taken on his party on any issue of significance. Many would argue that's exactly what got America in the mess that we're in now, a President that rubber-stamped any proposal that Congress threw his way. This seems especially dangerous with party that's been traditionally in favor of more social programs and increased taxes and government spending controlling both the executive and legislative branches of government.

Therefore my question is, when will America wake up and question the failures of Congress? Only 9% of people are happy with the actions of Congress, and a Democratic President will give them the power to do anything they want, which apparently 91% of people explicitly or implicitly do not favor. The main job of the President is simply to sign Congressional bills into law or veto them. It's already been made pretty clear that Obama, while promoting change, has been rated one of the most liberal Senators in America and goes along with his party in every major issue, which would give such an unpopular Congress such power to do anything it wants.

what was the rating of the republican controlled congress right before they loss their seats, secondly i believe people give them low ratings because they are simply democrat.

if you gonna be critical at least put your favorite party ratings out there but you wont, when the republican congress had low approval u can be your bottom dollar you said nothing bad about them..

one reason whythe democrat congress has bad ratings is due to the alaska drilling and the war. if the democrats fillibustered they could end the war now...
