Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, gave the game away when he said on "Fox News Sunday" that she would not meet with reporters until they showed a willingness to treat her "with some level of respect and deference."
defer: : to submit to another's wishes, opinion, or governance usually through deference or respect

Um, Sarah-- do you think Bin Laden is going to defer to you? Or that Hezbollah will coddle you and not be "too mean"?

We need grown ups in the White House who can handle themselves, not gimmicks that are trotted out to get the "identity politics" vote and slink away from questioning.

Is it fear? Or is it lack of desire? Its not like Reporters actually matter. Atleast not to me until they remember their job is to report the news not create it.

To be clear, I don't think Palin is afraid of the media.

I think her handlers are afraid she'll say the wrong thing. Hence the sequestering so she can get her crash course on foreign affairs and the like.

She might've benefited in being told that Fannie/Freddie are private - well, were private, anyhow.

Somehow I don't think the MSM are going to gush and fawn over her in the same manner they did with Obama.

Oprah, Ellen, The View, Larry King. They had real Obamagasms.

Finally, after a couple of years of being a celebrity senator, the Barak went on O'Reilly.

Now, Palin should do the same.

Well, she did claim to be disinterested in world politics, and she did say she didn't know what a VP did.

No wonder Cheney and Bush like her, another sock puppet.

Palin is currently undergoing intense course on issues of America and Foreign policy. George Bush will administer her Final Tuesday. Be patient.

AHHHH that is why McCain's convention was all about him being change

(even though he was in the senate for 27 years and he has a pretty good record of him adding earmarks)
