Aides to Senate Democratic leaders say Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman will be ousted as chairman of the Homeland Security Committee as payback for his Obama-bashing GOP convention speech — but only if the Democrats add four or five more seats to their slim Senate majority in November.

The Democrats’ anger with Lieberman has reached the boiling point, but it’s not yet clear whether his Senate colleagues are peeved enough to boot the party’s 2000 vice presidential nominee from the Democratic Caucus entirely.

The 66-year-old Connecticut independent has said he hopes to stay in the Democratic fold, although people close to him say he’s increasingly pessimistic about his prospects of doing so. Lieberman could lose chairmanship - Glenn Thrush - Politico.com

Good riddance.

And when the next CT election comes around, his own State will vote his warmongering ass out of office.

Polls in CT show if voters knew back then what they know now about Lieberman he would have never been reelected.

That reminds me. We are just one GOP Congressman away from having the GOP entirely kicked out of New England.

Oh you didn't know? An overwelming majority of Americans think going into Iraq was a mistake.

Iraq

He's not a hero to the country but only to a small group of scared insecure neocons and warmongers.

Default Top Lieberman staffer quits

Salon.com Politics | Top Lieberman staffer quits
Clip:
On the day Joe Lieberman returned to the Senate after speaking to the Republican convention, his legislative director, Joe Goffman, resigned. And Goffman doesn't have a new job lined up yet.

If he did resign because of his boss's most overt move to the Republican Party to date, Goffman isn't saying. But it is peculiar to see a top staffer leave without giving a reason or having his next move in mind. And Goffman, who was promoted to the position before Lieberman lost the 2006 Democratic primary for his Senate seat to Ned Lamont, has some liberal credentials to protect. He was, for 12 years, a senior attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund.

Well, if he's Secretary of State or Defense, he won't have to worry about it.
