I've lived in the south my entire life (GA, TN, LA, TX, AL) and have never heard of a segregated prom. Schools, neighborhoods, etc are all fully integrated. I also agree with Anifan that the south is the only part of the country that it is acceptable to slander!!!!!!!!!

Of course when you cross the Mackinac bridge your not really in Michigan anymore. Referring to the woman as the wife is common for us yoopers

I have never heard of one either. If there is one (which I doubt), it's because both blacks and whites want it that way.

And where exactly is this 'heartland', he is doing fairly well in the northern midwest.

This was all over the news last year.

Ashburn, Georgia
Students attend school's first integrated prom - CNN.com

4 Years ago it was a big deal that they even existed:
FOXNews.com - Ga. High School Holds Segregated Proms - U.S. & World

Butler GA 2003
School returns back to segregated prom after integrated prom:
Georgia High School students return to segregated proms | Jet | Find Articles at BNET

I could go one and one but suffice it to say, segregated proms in Georgia are not a rare thing and it still goes on to this day.

I see what you're saying but those are not actual school sponsored proms. They are technically privately held dances funded by parents. I have still never heard of anything like that in my area.

Schools don't pay for proms where I'm from (Michigan). The costs are always covered by the parents and students.
