Kind of speaks for itself, no?

That's a perfect example of using an axiom that's perfectly acceptable and even colloquial and enjoyed.
When you directly use it in a way that refers back to the recent "hockey mom" expression so OBVIOUSLY makes the Candidate seem like 7th grade.
Not presidential at all. AND more importantly, not above the fray as he so promised. It would have been smarter to use the EXACT quote using pit bull but even then very risky.
OUT of touch. He's not willing to accept that the woman is popular and just wait it out or go for substance. Confused. Like I said it doesnt matter if it's "logical". It's an emotional risk he took.
The first thing I told my employees in my retail store was NO JOKES to customers you dont know. One day a kid working for me said "hey nice pants" to a customer who was wearing the exact same pants. The goofy customer got all insulted and mad. You have to KNOW people to sell yourself to them. OBAMA does NOT know people, only his "own".

It was a stupid choice of words IMO when you have a popular female running on the other ticket and you are losing more of the women's vote each day (according to the polls).

If a man called my wife a pig, I would put my boot so far up his ass he would be tasting leather. I don't care if he was white, black, red, or yellow.
He could have picked something better.
Wonder what the reaction would be if McCain said, "isn't that the pot calling the kettle black"

So because Palin called herself a pit bull with lipstick, Obama can't use an axiom that's perfectly acceptable and even colloquial and enjoyed?

His left-wing supporter are so desperate for him to go on the "attack", they just don't realize this kind of attack is inappropriate, stupid and will cause an even greater backlash, especially now that the McCain camp and the media have picked it up.
Perfectly appropriate to attack her record and the things she says, but they can't seem to do that too well since those attacks only come back to highlight his weaknesses or his "words".

I do agree Obama is in a tight spot, he needs to pick and choose his moments. He can't be too lax, but he's also the "change," candidate so getting caught up in politics as usual is not good for him.

You're one of those I was referring to in my post above. You see, it's not the "look" of the pitbull, it's the tenaciousness, toughness, won't back down ATTITUDE of the pitbull that Palin refers to. Obama implied something entirely different with his "pig" comment. Can you really not comprehend that?
