Default City-Data Presidential Election Poll

Ok folks, lets have our own election poll and get an idea how folks on the forum compare to national polls. I must ask that you do not post comments as they will be deleted. I will make this a sticky for a week or so.

Ok folks, this thread is now open and free to discussion.

Do you think this poll is a reasonable indication of how the nation will vote in November?

I noticed that the write-in, other, and undecided numbers are fairly sizable.

Let it rip folks

It is interesting if this is reflective of the country on a whole. It appears that even though Obama won in this poll, it really is too close to call with the undecided votes and the write ins but since CD has many people with varying viewpoints, political ideologies and different reasons for their selection of President, it may be very close to how the nation will vote. The big question is which states were in play and what the electoral votes will be.

I will likely run another poll for a week that ends the day before the election to see how it compares to this one. Additionally, I am also curious as to how close the city-data poll will be to the actual election tally. I had a feeling that Obama would be ahead but I suspected only by a 3-4% margin which for all intents and purposes is a statistical dead heat with McCain when we take into account the undecided.

Greater than 600 people chose to vote, so it is at least a decent sized pool of opinion if nothing else. Not to mention fun.

The undecideds caught my attention too. As good as this poll is, I think one that was done after the first VP and Pres debate would paint either a different picture or a more decisive one. Many people are waiting for the debates to make up their minds. Other than that it looks like a good indicator of where people are at the moment.

Interestingly enough, they voted against McCain too! So what should we make of that? What do you think it means?

How can you say that with a straight face? The majority voted against both. Nice one sided answer.
