If Sarah Palin has her way, it will be literally a crime to exercise your right to choose. Sorry to lay this out for you, but imagine this terrible scenario...you daughter, sister or friend is raped and impreganted by a degenerate or worse yet, a relative. Your loved one is forced to have the child because abortion is illegal under any circumstances. Isn't this insane? Somebody needs to ask her what the penalty will be for seeking an illegal abortion. She made the choices for what was appropriate in her life, but I'll be damned if this extremist will ever make the choice for me or mine.
We do not need Supreme Court Judges put in place by these right wing lunatics. That is what is on the table if heaven forbid, this abonimable ticket is voted into office. Roe v. Wade will be overturned and stem cell research will be off the table. These individuals do not believe in science and are waiting around for the "End Time." Nothing turns me off more about this Palin woman than her radical views on abortion. I lived in a South American country for 10 years where abortion was prohibited by law and the things I have seen there would shock anybody. Women trying to abort her babies by taking medications or worse yet, llegal abortions being done by people who were not even health care specialists, as well as many abortion related deaths. I am so happy to live in a country where people actually have a legal choice.
It is a sad day when this is our first. I have a hard time convincing myself that she is our best and brightest. I am more convinced than ever to just stay home

So, you've never heard of BIRTH CONTROL? You know, pills, injections, long-acting implants, IUDs, condoms, foams, vaginal caps, shall I go on? Or does personal responsibility frighten you too much?

I am totally sick of these condescending "Beware, ladies!" posts from liberal men. It seems to me that THEY are the ones afraid -- afraid that women they date might wise up. Women might actually tell them "NO" to sex or they might insist on using reliable protection or, if an ooops occurs, they might actually want to keep the baby and not give in to men's pressure. Yep, men, be afraid and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
The first CHOICE a woman makes is to be sexually active. That choice should be exercised responsibly -- with BIRTH CONTROL if pregnancy is not desired. I have no use for ignorant women who want to have sex whenever they please but won't take the time to educate and protect themselves. There are a dozen reliable methods of birth control available. I have less use for men who con women into unsafe sex and then rely on abortion as an out so they don't have to take responsibility.
Lastly, I think there's a special place in Hell for those who try to reduce women's voting choices based on ONE ISSUE and SCARE them into voting their way. This country has had lots of conservative presidents and Roe v. Wade is still law. But regardless of Roe v. Wade, women STILL have to take responsibility, in their reproductive lives and with their vote for the good of the country.

I was raped when I was 16. My first thought was to get somewhere safe- back home. A week later when I came out of the stupor, it was far too late to get the morning after pill. I certainly wish I had had it together enough to go to the hospital- but I didn't. Plenty of women can't.
It wasn't even until I miscarried at around 10 weeks that I knew that I had been pregnant. That's how absolutely screwed up I was. Simply telling someone that getting the morning after pill is enough is absolutely criminal. Not to mention that it's not 100% effective.
