The governor of Michigan was chosen for her outstanding debate performances in her repub opponent in the 2006 election.
The Associated Press: Biden taps Granholm as Palin stand-in for debate (broken link)
Clips:
...Biden predicted that Palin would try to make their debate personal and said he wouldn't respond in kind if she attacked him.
...
"I'm not into the small-bore stuff. I don't care whether or not she built a bridge to nowhere. I don't care if she sold a plane," he said.
"What I care about is what in God's name is she going to do — along with John McCain — about the thousands of people who don't have health care," those struggling with other economic problems, and the foreign policy challenges facing the country, Biden said

Well, they do have one thing in common: they are lousy executives who manage to leave in their wake economic mismangement and deficits.

This makes sense, actually.

he is afraid to debate her! Omg!!!!

It's supposed to be a debate between the 2 VP hopefuls. Is Granholm going to take his place on the ticket too? I think this will be another thing that backfires on them. If he doesn't even have the balls to debate his opponent, but sends in a pinch hitter, why should his party be elected? Did Obama have a stand-in to debate Hillary? No. Would he have looked like a wuss if he had? YES!

Yeah I guess he doesn't care about the Bridge thing. Since he and Obama voted against re-allocating the funding to Katrina victims.

But yesterday he didn't mind being introduced by another Democrat using a LIPSTICK metaphor.

All phonies.

Biden said Granholm had agreed to spend four days with him to help prepare for the Oct. 2 debate in St. Louis. The Obama-Biden campaign asked for her assistance, and she was pleased to accept, Granholm spokesman Liz Boyd said Wednesday.

Are you kidding me! Is this for real really?

He needs to practice with a woman Gov before he debates Palin? Bwaaaahahahaha

What a looser. Oh and BTW it has been mentioned that she is not a good Gov believe it!

SO why does he not "practice" with a stronger woman than Granholm?
Or is he trying to Pander to Michigan voters because their Gov is so great?
