It was crystal clear that she didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was. And it is clear that the only ones that don't know what it is are Palin and her supporters.
The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us.
Yeah, I have that on a plaque on my wall and printed on a card in my wallet. I expect all of the critics have it hanging over their desks and written in the forum by-lines.
No wonder it took her two wks before the RNC would allow her to interview on her own. She needs to go back to Rove's office and get coached some more.....
You (she) damn well better know it, and it is common knowledge that it is called the Bush Doctrine, it has been in major newspapers, and you know that Biden knows it...
Again - SHE DOES HAVE TO KNOW IT.
SHE COULD BE PRESIDENT.
Stop evaluating her based on what you or I or anyone else here knows. She should be an EXPERT.
I don't know all of the details either (though I certainly knew of it) - and we are lucky I'm not the vice presidential candidate too!
She knows the policies, and that is far more important than knowing that it is called the Bush Doctrine, a term I have never heard until tonight.
You are correct. I have never heard of it until tonight, but I know a lot of Bush's positions on a lot of foreign issues. He has basically reversed himself; he has talked to Libya, North Korea, Iran etc.
Guess what! Your ignorance qualifies you to be a candidate for the Vice President of the United States of America. Congratulations!!!
Can this woman really be ready to be President when she doesn't even know HOW bush has changed the principles America uses to justify war?
I think not.
Apparently you're just as equally ignorant as is Charlie Gibson.
There is no "Bush Doctrine."
That's something liberals claim to hide the truth that it was Carter who stated the "Carter Doctrine" in 1978 that the US could take military action anywhere in the Persian Gulf Region for any reason or no reason at all as necessary to protect US interest.
Carter officially introduced his doctrine in 1980 during his State of the Union address.
His question was an open ended question. She asked a logical question. The liberals go wild. I knew this would happen - they would find something horribly wrong and run off in a tizzy. And put me down as another one who didn't know what the Bush Doctrine is.
The Bush Doctrine asserts that states supporting terrorists, or providing sanctuary for terrorists, will be deemed just as guilty of crimes as the terrorists themselves.
This is different from how Gibson described it, and how it is described on wiki.
