I don't get it. For the last 2 years, Bush has had terrible ratings. People are sick and tired of his brushoffs of the Middle Class and poor. He ignores jobs going overseas and talks about jobs Americans don't want. He talks about bringing more guest workers over here. He continues an invasion, which, if another country did that, would be internationally condemned.

People got disgusted after his first term, and when he was "re-elected", there was concern over the truth of the voting process.

McCain has tried to dissociate from Bush.

But we all know it is just what the spin docs in Washingtoon do to skillfully craft a desirable candidate out of McCain. McCain is a "good ole boy", and now calls himself a Maverick. He threw some bad words at his party, but come on, who believes that. When he said it, it lacked such fervor and conviction, that it seemed he was trying to convince himself.

If people are voting for McCain because of Palin, they are seriously in trouble. Picking a candidate because they have a nice family, look nice, didn't abort a baby, etc., are vacant reasons for sure.

Those of us out here, who have been ravaged by this economy, and you know who YOU are...KNOW, without any shadow of a doubt, that McCain is not serious about doing a thing about the shrinking middle class of America.

Those of us out here, who have worked hard, and have seen ourselves fall from Middle Class to Poor, know...that the very rich have a friend in McCain and his wife. We know that capitalism and wealth are not inherently bad, but abuse of power and greed are.

So how come so many want to TURN THEIR BACKS ON THE PAST 8 YEARS AND VOTE FOR MCCAIN?

Aren't things BAD enough for a lot of these people? I guess as long as they have theirs, they don't care that company after company is going abroad, people are losing benefits, livable wage jobs are getting fewer, and we have lost SO many liberties via the Homeland Security Act.

The Presidential Homeland Directive, signed in May of 2006, should be enough to convince people that the Constitution is being ripped apart, piece by piece.

The people who fought the American Revolution were not interested in a show. They wanted their liberty and were not afraid to die for it.

Re-electing people who step on the Constitution is an insult to those who died for our freedoms.

I challenge anyone who is for McCain/Palin to think, think about how she is for war in Russia. Think about how these Neocons want to fulfill their biblical prophecies.

Think.
Think.
Think.

I am an American Patriot. I want the United States back from the criminal element that runs it.

Republicans seem to be running as "outsiders" even though Bush was president for 2 terms! They did not mention Bush much even in their own convention, attribute national failures to Congress, are starting to link loan crisis to Clinton, are pandering to the right (Palin) etc -- all the while proclaiming "change". I would have thought their slogan should be "8 more years!". Or, maybe the Dems can use this sarcastically to drive home the point.

Maybe because Bush does not = McCain?

McCain would have been a far better POTUS than Bush. McCain will be a far better POTUS than Bush if elected.

That said: Vote Libertarian!

Because the Dems can't scrape together good candidates...

2000 - Al Gore - His head was in the clouds but his feet lost touch with the ground

2004 - John Kerry - Douche Bag w/ foot always in mouth

2008 - Barak Obama - Far left wing - partisan - divisive

Most Americans are moderate or just right of center. The Democrat party has been hijacked by extreme special interest groups ie gays, hollywood, unions, actvists...

30% of the people will always vote according to party. It's the 40% in the middle that decide elections. I'm guessing that those who aren't voting just because of party honestly think that they will have a better economic deal under McCain and that he will be better on defense. They don't realize that most of his proposal are just Bush policies. Then, some of them just don't like something about Obama. And, of course, some people will vote for McCain because Sarah Palin is hot. I'd say that a good number of votes simply don't think. Those that do and still go for McCain have a different world view.

ETA: Social issues also draw voters away from Obama.

Did you hear Obama tonight on the forum for public service? He was articulate and inspirational -and that's what will inspire millions of Americans to believe in the wonder of their country again..
I've been a real doubter but the more I hear about the specifics of his agenda for 'change' I feel revitalized - that there IS hope for a new, much less divisive and more productive America. I hope folks are really listening to and *hearing* what he's saying! He is NOT confusing the debate by condemning his opponents..
