Political Punch

Quote:
Using the public information compiled on the Web site of the non-partisan group Legistorm, Murdock concludes that, on average, women in McCain's office are paid more than the men in McCain's office -- $1.04 for every dollar a man makes. Men in Obama's office make more than women do; female employees make 83 cents for every dollar made by male employees.

Only one of Obama's five best-paid Senate staffers is a woman. Of McCain's five best-paid Senate staffers, three are women.

Of Obama's top 20 salaried Senate staffers, seven are women. Of McCain's top 20 salaried Senate staffers, 13 are women.
So much for his equal pay BS. God, this guy is such a liar and a fraud.

Sorry, not enough info. Are you saying that Obama pays women and men in lower positions a lower salary than other men and women on his staff? Where are the financial numbers for McCain's staff? This is why Harvard used to require a course on statistics for all of their undergraduates: so that they would understand how to decipher "more" and "less" in intelligent ways.

Be careful. A suspect hatred is fairly bursting from beneath the surface of your words.

Why are you attacking Sanrene? They're not Sanrene's words -- he or she is simply reporting what a NON-PARTISAN study found and ABC News is reporting. Why don't you click on the links instead of trashing the messenger?

Oh no, he is for equal pay for everyone.

But he does not practice what he preaches.

Big fat liar he is.

She reported nothing. The statistics mean nothing unless they are broken down relative to position, as well as salary.

P.S. And I did click on the link. It also does not give the specifics. Nobody's "trashing" anybody. The information provided makes as much sense as a toothpaste commercial which claims that "more dentists recommend." More dentists where? Under what conditions? Statistics are not simple. That's why there is an entire discipline called "Statistics." That's why business students have to take a "Statistics" class.

Did anyone even read the link? As MovingForward states, we don't even know what "in the office" translates into in terms of positions.

What's more office staff doesn't translate into campaign staff:

"The Obama campaign does not dispute Murdock's figures (and neither does the McCain campaign), but Obama campaign spox Ben LaBolt argues that it's a much different situation on Obama's presidential campaign.

Obama's campaign is jam-packed with high-ranking women, LaBolt says, citing Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor Michelle Obama, Chief of Staff Stephanie Cutter, Senior Advisor Linda Douglass, VP Chief of Staff Patti Solis Doyle, VP Communications Director Ricki Seidman, National Finance Chair Penny Pritzker, Policy Director Heather Higginbottom, Domestic Policy Director Neera Tanden, Director of Rapid Response Christina Reynolds, Senior Adviser Anita Dunn, Senior Speechwriter Sarah Hurwitz, Battleground States Director Jen O’Malley, Research Director Devorah Adler, Director of Scheduling and Advance Alyssa Mastromonaco, Chief Financial Officer Marianne Markowitz, Chief Operations Officer Betsy Myers, and the woman whom LaBolt says is the campaign's highest-paid official, Finance Director Julianna Smoot. (Nice work, Jules.)"

It helps explain why he didn't pick Hillary as his running mate, and his jealousy of Palin as well. He's a piece of work that's for sure.

His "jealousy" of Palin? It's incredible to me that you people don't realize you've been had. It's like you're reading Rove's dream script. They admit that they selected a V.P. candidate not for her qualifications, but for how she can be perceived. They derailed the election with a stunt, turned the democratic process into a circus. And you are all falling right into line, doing exactly what they want you to do: lining up behind somebody whose positions on the issues you don't know and don't care to know. Because Karl Rove knows very well that the neo-con base isn't interested in "truth" or "issues," but just in hate. And that they'd get behind any candidate that was breathing. But a self-professed "pit bull," a mommy, and pretty on top of it? Wow. Put her with a loose cannon, lying s.o.b.--and the base will go crazy. And whaddya' know? Good job!
