I don't know about Pauly being against the democratic process. Doesn't seem like it to me.
I'll tell you that I am against marxism, socialism, liberalism, and statism though. All of which Obama has promised to vigorously push upon us if, God forbid, he is elected in November.

I spent today canvassing for some local candidates - 62 houses, plus anybody we ran across on this fine day. I live in a very conservative town in Idaho, and that means something. We found only two people who defended Bush's record. There were a few others who said they were registered Republicans. Almost everybody else was interested in learning about our candidates.
It's going to be a nice November 4th.

Thank you Idahogie. DM me any future dates you might go, I'd like to involve the kids. As I mentioned elsewhere in the forums, I've been overhearing alot of talk about the election, and it's been suprisingly pro-Obama. Things aren't often what they are assumed to be!

[quote=golfgod;5254217]I spent a few hours knocking on doors in what I thought would be a fairly evenly divided (D and R) neighborhood. Income, average house price and type and number of cars argued for at close to a 50/50 split.
A bit of suprise, out of 60 doors, only 2 McCains, 2 "won't say", 4 undecided, 1 Ron Paul, 0 Bob Barr, 6 Obama. 3 of the Obama folks wanted to get signs, bumper stickers, 4 of them wanted to donate and 3 asked about volunteering. Two of the last group said they had been pretty undecided until they caught more than the first 10 minutes of Palin.
Thanks for being such a patriot for our country, golfgod. i canvassed in las vegas for kerry in 04 and now plan on canvassing and registering new dem voters in new mexico this election season. go obama/biden 2008!

As one Viet Nam vet said; "that woman scares me more than Bush or McCain ever did, and McCain looks like one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel" (partially paraphrased).
One other item of note, 3 of the six Obama supporters said they had been for Hillary, but after some consideration they're "all in" for Obama.
So while you guys have been bleating on about Obama being (1) a Muslim, (2) a trojan horse for Al-Queada, (3) a community organizer, (4) inexperienced, because he was never the mayor of a "red neck, white bread, quiet little mountain town" (see South Park, Bigger, Longer and Uncut). Some of us have been out "moving the ball down the field".

And this all happened in the land of Oz? For some reason I don't believe any of this.....
Oh yes, I went skipping door to door today too, and 10 people said they were voting for McCain, 3 said Ron Paul, 5 weren't home, and only one guy said he was voting for Obama (of course he was drunk and half asleep).
See, anyone can play that numbers game. It does sound almost convincing though.

Denial much?
Obama is kicking McCain's butt. The GOP is desperate enough to go hog-wild crazy for a complete unknown - they were waiting for their own "rock star" I guess. And you accuse people of making up stuff because you don't like what they say. Nice.

What makes you think Obama is a marxist or a socialist?
I seriously cannot believe that people are buying into this cr*p.

And who had ever heard of Obama until last Fall? An unknown who dropped out of nowhere to run for President of the U.S.? Someone with a radical, Anti-American, racist minister, someone with radical friends who used to bomb government buildings for fun, someone whose own wife is a racist and was not proud of this country until her husband started running for president, someone who wants to raise taxes,....I could go on. No, this Obama character is not getting my vote and there are many organizations who are working hard to prevent him from winning this election. Our country will be overrun by terrorists, with fighting on our home soil if Obama gets elected. Our freedoms as we know them will be gone.

Great job! Keep up the good work. We're only trying to save a country and get ourselves out of the dark ages. The world awaits our return as a respectable nation after 8 years of conservative lunacy.
