Default When did Obama stop taking drugs?

"I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years," Obama wrote in "Dreams From My Father," in a section of the book about his college days. "Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it."

You seriously think that someone who smokes pot or drinks alcohol is a revolutionary? I'm willing to bet that includes just about every adult in the U.S.

That Obama did not become addicted to illegal drugs speaks well of his character and good judgment.

Agree, but lots of people used drugs and then stopped. It doesn't mean they should become President of the United States.

Many think that he never stopped using drugs. Many think he may still be doing coke, pot, etc. This could explain how "up" he can be at a speech one day, and how tired and "down" he can be at a speech the next day. Drug use may explain many of his stupid gaffes (like what state he is in, etc).

Many feel he still has a drug addiction.

Talk about libel . And to me it looks like Cindy McCain (and your boy Rush Limbaugh) has been sharing her vicodin with John..

That these same people who complain voted in Bush, a known alcoholic and cocaine addict, shows the typical hypocrisy.

This is one of those "When did you stop beating your wife" threads.

I would think that anyone in such a stressful environment as a Presidential election would have an extremely hard time concealing drug use. I don't see any reason to believe that Obama or any of the candidates are using drugs.

Of everyone associated with this election, I would think that Cindy McCain is the person who would be suspected first, given her difficulty in overcoming her addiction. But even there, I don't see any reason to believe that she is using drugs.

Many people believe that McCain still chases skirts wherever he can and continues with his compulsive philandering. You've seen the sentiment, once a cheater always a cheater.

Only now he requires a little Viagra to keep up, so he has his insurance company pay for it.

Obama admits he has abused alcohol in the past and has received treatment. He does presently drink alcohol, he says, on a social basis.

Obama also admits to cocaine, crack and marijuana abuse in the past. It is not known if he continues those abuses.

Obama is a longtime cigarette smoker and admits the addiction. He says he smokes a pack a day. His favorite brand is Newport. His doctor has advised him to quit but Obama says he has been unable to stop.

Reporters traveling with the Obama campaign by air report seeing the candidate drinking cocktails and chain smoking. Others report that when they get close to him Obama's clothes reek of tobacco smoke.

Many, many, many years sooner than the Shrub you voted twice into the White House did. (And he could ALWAYS afford it. Stopped at around 40, from what I understand.)

Any other questions?
