Sunday, September 14th 2008 The Democrats' Palin problem won't be going away any time soon. And it could derail Barack Obama's fight against Republican John McCain - unless Dems summon the discipline to ignore the GOP vice-presidential candidate's celebrity and instead focus like a laser on campaign basics. I agree but the repugs will keep her front and center, she's all they have after all.....
I agree with the article from the OP to a certain degree.
I think there will be a complete change back to the issues on the Obama side this week. He already started doing that last week.
Personally, I think this Palin obsession is a fad. I can see her little star light fading already.
The media does seem to be actually reporting on the bits of her past/present that *do* need attention (like Troopergate), and they have all (yes, even CNN and MSNBC) run stories debunking rumors about her. Obama needs to leave discussion of her to the media and SNL - bring it back to McCain, and he's already doing that.
Celebrity fades fast in this country. This election is far from over, and I have a feeling that it's much less close than people would like to hope. Of course, all of that could change in the debates, eh?
Sarah Palin is absolutely Basking in the spotlight and attention she is now getting. What is she going to do if she becomes the VP and just the "spare wheel"? She has shown that she loves to be in charge. You are right that if she is ignored it will "rattle" her and the real Sarah will prevail. Not a nice thought.
Many dems have been screeching about this for a while. But obama, his supporters and left-wing blogs have not taken the advice, which has led to a surge in the polls for McCain.

Haven't we been telling all you people attacking Palin on this forum that you are only hurting Obama, not helping him? Didn't the polls tell you that?
