Sounds like you really hate us Americans, who rough it out at work everyday, pay the bills (barely) and the crazy high taxes which more increasingly continues to go to social programs that "The Messiah" hopes to increase. You know......most politcos suck, and only want to better their own lives, but this guy "The Messiah" scares me. Unfortunatley, I'll have to defend myself by saying, I'm not the least bit racist, but "white privilage" is b*ll$h!t. How come anytime an educated, person of color, that happens to have conservative views comes along, you left wing socialists, throw oreo cookies at them, call them uncle tom, etc (Michael Steele, Dr.Condolezza Rice, Alan Keyes, Herman Caine, Justice Clarence Thomas).

You sir are the racist, and if you believe that things are that bad in this great (for the time being) country, please consider a one way plane ticket to somewhere like Venezuela, or France. They will take care of all your needs........ punk.
You have misused the use of the Uncle Tom. Blacks use that against blacks, not whites libs - a white lib in particular would never use that term because it would be un-pc. I too have been disturbed and at times scared by the Obama jock riders and I'll give you those remarks without issue.

Where I take issue is your claim that there is no such thing as white privilege. To say that it doesn't exist, not even for a second, paints you as white and as someone that has never experienced racism. Do you also believe racial profiling works and that there is nothing wrong with it?

White privilege absolutely exists in this country. No one questions whether or not McCain got into West Point because he earned it. No one asks if daddy bought his way in or despite all his (John's) demerits and low grades, paid to make sure he stayed in. But every day, at least once on these boards, someone states that Obama got into Harvard on affirmative action.

That is racism and white privilege. Making the argument that he (Obama) hasn't released his school records and therefore until he does the assumption is fair is BS. Plenty of other (white) candidates campaign without releasing their records. But no one asks if they deserved to get in.

This is just one example. Others could be made and I'm sure other people will make them but to think it doesn't exist just because you don't have to deal with it is unenlightened and privileged - or lucky since the race you were born into is either luck or by the grace of god, whichever you believe.

drkman,
The "messiah" is meant as a metaphor. When watching his acceptance speech, and watching grown men & women openly weeping, at what amounts to an highly educated street hustler accepting the parties nomination (which in it self, should tell you we are NOT a racist nation) tells me that the change that he proposes, is just a larger, more expensive version of the race baiting, lying, dirty, corrupt, olitics of the Windy City.

Please do not mention he is half white, he will only use that a week or so before the election.

He cannot be the first Black President ever, because he is not 100% black.

So history cannot be made with him anyway.

"White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because “every family has challenges,” even as black and Latino families with similar “challenges” are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay."
And ultimately, white privilege is the killing these kids are make off the book thanks to liberal whining about their do nothing terrorist loving candidate losing his advantage to a working mother.

Would you feel the same if she were black?

"White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don’t all **** on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you’re “untested.”
"

"White privilege is being able to make fun of community organizers and the work they do--like, among other things, fight for the right of women to vote, or for civil rights, or the 8-hour workday, or an end to child labor--and people think you’re being pithy and tough, but if you merely question the experience of a small town mayor and 18-month governor with no foreign policy expertise beyond a class she took in college--you’re somehow being mean, or even sexist.
"

WRONG! This is right-wing Christian Evangalical privilege. I am white; I feel the same as you and believe me, it has nothing to do with being white. I see the same hypocricy you see. This has everything to do with the right-wing base Chistian/Evangalical/fundamentalist base seeing Palin as someone "God has brought up to be in this role in our country." It is as scary to me as it is to you. I'm a Christian too; but not of the type that wants to take our country down the Christian Taliban road. Let's work together in understanding what is going on here and not make this a black vs. white thing, because it's not. Maybe it is for some; for me, it is not.

Wow. It told the rest of us that folks were happy to see the Candidate they had supported move to the next stage of realizing their dreams.

You characterization of a Columbia and Harvard Law School graduate, and former University of Chicago Law School instructor as a "street hustler" is racism at its most obvious.

Thanks for proving the point.
