Yep, and he conveniently leaves out the fact that Galveston built its own 17-foot seawall decades ago and that's what helped to spare the area. Oh, but why be proactive when you can sit around waiting for the feds to do something and, when they don't, whine and cry racism when the suffering happens?

You better run to Walmart and start stocking up so that you can lock yourself up in your doublewide for the next eight years and wait for the Republican party to come save you. Hint, the Republicans thrive on stirring up the fear and hate in people like you, but do nothing for you.

Why is it important to be an idiot?

I'm trying to wrap my head around which groups of people I'm supposed to hate. According to people on this forum, all of these have been mentioned as appropriate candidates. Is it:

Socialists
Gays
Muslims
Californians
Arabs
Communists
Non-Christians
Transgendered people
Liberals
Kenyans
Hispanics
Asians
Blacks
Half-blacks
People who drink lattes
Southerners
Northerners
Rednecks
Canadians

Please advise. I only have so much hate stored up, and I want to make sure that I target it at the appropriate group.

Uh, hello, this isn't about me. It's about YOU spewing crap about my state, which provides a favorable economic climate that keeps your company in existence and you employed. You say you hate Texas and want to leave so GO! I'm sure there's a content Texan who would be happy to take your job and do so with a positive attitude.

Well, I'd go for the Socialists. That way you're covering quite a few groups on your list in one fell swoop! Besides, if you look around at the countries in the world that are entirely socialistic or incorporated large socialistic programs, you'll see that the people are disgusted. My good friends in England have become very embittered about how once-proud England has descended into "Nanny State Britain."

Love it.

You don't have to hate anyone.

Just reach into your soul and your brain and figure out what's right.

Two final points:

1. It was you, not me, who firsted spewed crap about my state. You attacked the Dems in Louisiana for poor handling of the hurricane. A Republican governor would have done no better. I never said I hated Texas, but Houston is a hell-hole. I will go when I am good and ready.

2. The city of New Orleans would love to build it's own levee protection a la Galveston. However, the powers that be have intrusted that responsibility and obligation to the Army Corps of Engineers all up and down the Mississippi River (not just Louisiana). You probably shouldn't be posting on topics you know nothing about.

1. Uh, hello, EVERYONE attacked the Dems in Louisiana for their muck-up. Are you trying to say they did a GOOD job???? And quit sounding like a petulant child. Man up and leave if you're so unhappy in Houston.

2. Then you needed to change out the "powers that be" and quit being lemmings. You lived in a hurricane-prone area and everyone knew what could happen if a big one hit. Ultimately, your "powers that be" are responsible, as are the people who elected them.

Because the US Government keeps our family in Virginia Beach right now. When we get orders again, we will happily return.
