Here are some of Obama's thoughts about the Bush Doctrine...

"ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: Sen. Barack Obama lobbed another verbal grenade at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Thursday, continuing a feud that first erupted at Monday night's Democratic presidential debate.

In a conference call with reporters, Obama said Clinton would continue the "Bush doctrine" of only speaking to leaders of rogue nations if they first meet conditions laid out by the United States. He went on to suggest that being "trapped by a lot of received wisdom" led members of Congress -- including Clinton -- to authorize the war in Iraq."

Political Radar: Obama: Clinton Would Continue "Bush Doctrine"

When asked about the Bush Doctrine in the Iowa debate and how the Obama Doctrine would differ, he said this:

"A: The Obama Doctrine is not going to be as doctrinaire as the Bush Doctrine because the world is complicated. Bush's ideology has overridden facts and reality. That means that if there are children in the Middle East who cannot read, that is a potential long-term danger to us. If China is polluting, then eventually that is going to reach our shores. We have to work with them cooperatively to solve their problems as well as ours. "

What??????

That could be the case. The Obama Doctrine is one you have to think about for a while. I'm sure he sounded smooth though and slipped by without anyone realizing how convoluted that response is.

As we now know, Palin got it right, since there are many aspects to the bush doctrine, which is really not a document at all, just a phrase invented by the media.

Notice the media jumps all over Palin for giving a correct argument that Gibson intentionally tried to set her up for failure, even defining the Bush Doctrine incorrectly for the date (2002) that he stated. Now go back and check Obama's response.. if Palin had given that answer, she would have been laughed out of the interview.

I don't think Gibson intentionally tried to railroad her. I think he didn't really know what it meant himself so when he was challenged, he became a little aggressive to protect his ego. He knew someone was about to look stupid, so he put on his armor... and then looked stupid
