actually what people may be thinking about is if the democrats are the party of change and they were truly interested in change why has nothing changed with them having control over both the house and the senate in almost 2 years. we are wondering if they just need a little more time to get started.

I saw an interesting number the other day. 85% of the Government is Republican controlled. Reading this put a lot of things in perspective when one considers how things function within the Government. This doesn't necessarily denote who we should blame when things go wrong, but it is who we blame when things go wrong. We rarely micromanage blame, we take the umbrella approach, our system of Government encourages this. For instance, we don't look at the effect of Republican filibusters and procedural roadblocks to legislation, we micro/macro blame Congress, ignore the Senate 50/50 split and assign blame. Personally I don't care who comes up with a plan or who claims credit for their respective party, I prefer a good plan, well executed, honestly debated and passed into law.

if you are saying that control of both the house and the senate is not enough to accomplish change, then how can you say that it should be enough when republicans are in charge? are you specifically blaming a republican president? i absolutely am in agreement with you on your last sentence, because a positive outcome for our country is more important than who got us there.

We blame everyone and in Presidential elections, go after the President, his Administration, and Congress in that order. The Republicans supporters conveniently ignore periods during this Administration that they have been in charge, and an indepth look at Congress shows they haven't relinquished much control, and have stifled legislative efforts through procedural tactics and challenges. ~shrug. This what the Minority party's do to assert control when out of Majority, however this Minority still has the considerable weight of the Office of the President. The Majority in the Senate is tentative and basically a talking point when one considers Independents Joe Lieberman and Bernie Sanders caucus with the Democratic Party, giving the Democratic Caucus the majority.

We always blame the President. It's what Presidential elections are about, the failures of the last Administration and what the next one promises to do better or different.
