The Palin bounce has ended thank god...Obama is tied with McCain in the CNN polls where Obama had been several points down. Obama is also gaining in the gallop poll. This change began after the Palin interview. The latest economic woes with the buy out of Merril Lynch has put the economy back to the forefront which will contribute to Obama's rising poll numbers.

It is true, both Palin and McCain approval numbers are tanking

Here are Sarah Palin's daily approval numbers from the Daily Kos/Research 2000 tracking poll:

Approve Disapprove No Opinion
9/11: 52 35 13 +17
9/12: 51 37 12 +14
9/13: 49 40 11 +9
9/14: 47 42 11 +5
9/15: 47 43 10 +4

In the span of five days, Palin has gone from +17 to +4 -- a statistically significant shift. This includes the Gibson interview as well as the media's sudden focus late last week on the Palin/McCain lies. In comparison, Biden is at 48/32/20, Obama is at 54/38/8, and McCain is at 51/45/4.

So Palin may not be the least popular of the four -- McCain is, but she is certainly the least liked of the four candidates, and given that both Obama and Biden are at +16 favorability, McCain's +6 and and Palin's +4 point to a fundamental weakness that will likely play a role moving forward.

How about McCain in that time period?

Approve Disapprove No Opinion

9/11: 55 44 1 +11
9/12: 56 43 1 +13
9/13: 55 43 2 +12
9/14: 53 44 3 +9
9/15: 51 45 4 +6

Not as dramatic a collapse as Palin, but still bleeding some popularity from the media's sudden focus on the dishonorable campaign McCain has run

Actually, thats just some water rolling back out to sea that is going to come crashing back ashore as a McCain tsunami on Nov 4.

There will be some problems for Obama real soon, in the next 2-3 weeks. The left can't really be dumb enough to think that the McCain camp has fired all their guns yet can they?

With Obama joining in with attack ads of his own, its about to get REAL NASTY, and I get a feeling that when the smoke clears, not only will Obama lose, but he will never run again.

I think the Palin syndrome has peaked but unless Obama get's into specifics he won't beat Mccain and his campaign has lost steam .

I myself am probably voting Independent anyway as not as keen on Obama as used to be . I need specifics .

That's nuts. You think the McCain/Palin are talking about specifics???

Hell no. The GOP does what they do every election. They keep the talk away from issues and specifics. Instead , they foster cultural divides among Americans.

Tanking? PA, MI, MN have moved into toss-ups. McCain leads in the EC 227-207 With toss-ups. TANKING is what obama has been doing, Gallup +8 to -5, now -2, Rasmussen +6 to -5, now-2, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, USAToday polls all show that obama has lost support.

Remove toss ups and Obama is still winning electoral votes.

State polls lag the National RCP poll. (You're just playing dumb)

Go look at the graph for the RCP national poll.

McCain is tanking.
