Reading through these forums, it amazes me the number of outright lies about where candidates stand on issues.

It leads me to wonder, how many people are so sick and tired of hearing supporters of a candidate lie about where the other candidate stand on issues, that the taste in the mouth is so bad that you could NEVER see yourself supporting anyone but the candidate your supporting just so you dont have to be associated with the liers on forums?

I don't think it hurts them much. There was a great piece in an Ohio paper today that opined on a similar thought. What he said was that everyone you see on forums and blogs discussion politics have no real weight or merit on the rest of the country and what they see.

Everyone that uses these mediums, posts and reads with any regularity is already a political junkie whereas many Americans hear very little of what is going on in comparison. They take a casual interest in it at best, discuss it with one another, listen to the soundbites on the nightly news, read the headlines here and there and that is the extent of it.
