Both parties are knee deep into this mess. Point your fingers at Washington, not each other.

Good post. The finger-pointing is largely political. Both parties hold some responsibility; corporations hold some responsibility; and private individuals own some responsibility. The change that needs to come is to realize this, and break from the partisan politics and gotcha politics that perpetuates ineffectiveness.

Almost all Dem Senators voted against repeal the Glass Act which deregulated the mortage industry. Almost every GOP Senator voted for it.
It is most assuredly not true that Dems are as responsible for this as the GOP.
This is of no suprise. Deregulation of industry is one of the GOP's major themes.
Of course bad Dems went along with it. That's not the point. The point is to vote Democratic and improve the party.
You'd prefer that voters throw up your hands and vote for some stupid issue like "flag burning" while the GOP and their corporate lobbyists bend you over...LOL

BILL CLINTON is to blame, he lifted regulations to allow low income and poor credit people to get loans they should have never got.
Of course dems do not understand money, but if there fellow dems who failed to pay their house payments on time would have honored their contracts to pay these companies would not have did this.
Some people are not made for responsibilities and 99.9% of them are democrats waiting for the rest of us to bail there sorry asses out.
Can you see this coming, next thing Nancy and Harriet will try to find a way to get these losers low rate loans so they can OWN A HOME again.
Wait and see!
These losers will be rewarded by this dem congress.
The American Dream of home ownership has been killed by democrats.
Exactly what this congress is all about, you lose so they can control you.

Having lived in Washington under 50 years of Democrat control I have no doubt when the dems lost the house, senate, governorships, in no particular order, they did not leave their power at Congresses steps. They are knee deep into this mess. However, I've never seen such incompetent leadership from a Presidency ever. Bush does not care one bit and the Republicans are going to suffer for it for years. The Democrat Congress is just as lame and will be their turn soon to go back home and chase ambulances. Both parties are on the take from lobbyist and are very transparent about it. To me, we are witnessing the downside of a 2 party system when both parties are more alike then not.

Didn't the GOP run the Congress until 2 years ago for several years??? So how did the Dems have any power or control to actually pass any legislation when they were not in control? Or are you telling us the Dems were in control 5 years ago? If so, look up your history.

Finally someone who can look further back in history than 8 years to understand the entire situation. Bonus for you.
*Anyone* who blames this economic crisis entirely on this administration are blind to what was happening the previous 8 years.. and I can't stand Bush, but at least I'm able to take an objective look at history.
