I wish that the people who have issues with either candidate or his running mate, would focus on the issues and not this petty stuff. Who cares if she had a pool table, wet bar and 10' stuffed grizzly bear put in the governor's mansion as long as she paid for it? Gov Patrick Deval, on the other hand, purchased new drapes for $10,000 and a new limo in which to get around and it was all funded by us, the poor taxpayers.

Good point. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a very real phenomenon and it can affect quality of work and life. Tanning beds are known to minimize it.

That the OP thinks this is a BIG BAD STORY is pretty funny.
That said, when I heard about the tanning bed, I figured it was because there is pretty much NO sun up there for months. It helps with mood for some people. And even if she wanted it for vanity reasons, here is my response: Yawn.
"Mr Pale and Pasty" has had serious bouts of skin cancer. At least we know he has sense enough not to expose his skin to more sun rays just so he'll look good.
If I lived in Alaska, I might spring for a tanning bed too.
Big deal...everyone's got one up there...there's 6 straight months of darkness....remember? Just consider it light therapy for seasonal depression!
Heh...I think people use full spectrum lights for that, not tanning beds, but maybe the darkness explains Palin's general demeanor.
