If obamas speech was directed to the NEA, and if the purpose of his speech was to assure funds for public schools to teach spanish as well as mandarin, german, french and russian that would be one thing. And it would be a great thing. What obama was doing was making a play at hispanic 'rights' groups that insist making english the official language of the USA is discriminatory while at the same time wanting spanish to become a de facto lingua franca. And they are having great success at that.

People coming here need to learn English, that is out language.
Sure its nice to be able to understand other languages but I will not learn it to be able to speak and communicate with those who cannot speak english.
If they cannot speak english, they are the ones who need to learn it.
So you libs who defend this, shouldn't those coming here be forced to learn our language? I say yes.
I am for an ALL english speaking, writting, saying America. If you can speak all those other languages good for you, it is a plus.
But I do not want to half to hear the words, english or spanish everytime I call someone. Or see spanish on my kids school newspaper, or see spanish on every drive through. Time to stop this nonsense.
