It has recently come to light that Gov. Palin's Yahoo! Mail account was hacked and its contents published on the internet for all to see. Included were messages that would be considered official government business.

I tend to think that this is a bad idea and shows poor judgment. For one thing, it's possible to hack Yahoo! Mail. Do we want federal government business to be published on the net? For another thing, this runs completely counter to Palin's "open government" (ha ha) ideals.

Basically, all protection and oversight is removed. This woman shows poor judgment and is in way over her head.

I doubt it. I think it was deliberately done by the McCain/Palin camp in order to give her plausible deniability. Since it was "hacked" (yeah, right) she can say "I didn't send those emails, it must have been the hacker!"

Perfect excuse.

I've never thought of that, but she has yet to bring that up.

Not just government business, but virtually all professional business law, medical, etc, it is DANGEROUS to use commercial services like yahoo. There are multiple factors involved -- many dealing with security and nature of the email contents involved.

She didn't. There is no evidence of that.

Good little demo, starting another false rumor. There was no Goverment business discussed in the emails, but lieing fits in good with the demos scheme to hope for victory....

Federal government computers do not allow webmail at all. Easy fix.

Default Now that you mention it

I think its disingenuous how fox news is making it seem like a more heinous crime simply because it was Mrs. Palin’s e-mail. Yes hacking someone’s e-mail is a breach or privacy but so is discussing someone’s personal medical records and isn’t that what Mrs. Palin has been accused of back in Alaska?

I think it has a little more credibility than, "Obama; Not muslim? You sure?" and other Sanrene gems.
