yes, usually a candidate's celebrity status wears off. she didn't interest me from the get go. it was obvious why the choice was made, although it may have been a decent political move. I know a couple of girls who are going to vote for mccain now, which is surprising, because women are like 99% democrat voters.
Humm, I heard it was because of Carl Rove, Mc Cain picked Palin.
which begs the question is Karl Rove getting back at McCain for distancing himself from Bush and the republican ideals? or is he helping him by saying ok if I criticize him then hell really look like a maverick and not like us Repubs. I really dont understand what Karl Rove is doing

With the conservatives are admitting it, you know McCain is in trouble. Now he cant rely on the "novelty" creating the excitment.
"Rove told the Associated Press Wednesday he thinks the choice of Sarah Palin was a political one and that the excitement she has generated will soon wear off." "Rove also described the choice of Palin as a "political pick," and said she was not the most qualified Republican McCain could have chosen."
The other day he said McCain's recent ads had gone too far (Lying about Obama's platform), now he says the Palin novelty will wear off. It already is, Obama is 3-4 points ahead of McCain as of today.
He was also quoted in the press a few weeks ago as saying that Palin was a "campaign" pick, not a "governing" pick, which translates into 'she is a novelty act or gimmick' and not able to govern at the national level.
For once Rove has spoke the truth...is he the new "straight talk dude" or what.
Has there been a falling out between McCain and Rove, sure seems like it to me.
We all know she was never the "most qualified Republican" McCain could have picked.
I still don't know why he did it. There were other women who could have been a VP candidate, and been taken seriously.
That's because the anti-abortion evango-fascists on the extreme right said they'd instigate a floor fight at the GOP convention if McCain picked one of the superb female GOP senators - who just happen to be too pro-choice for their liking. So McCain found himself a sucker to fill the bill and get the backing of the whacko wing of the GOP.
