Scandal: Palin bought a tanning bed... with her own money!!!
Scandal: Palin bought a tanning bed... with her own money!!!
This is a terrible thing. How could Palin spend her own personal funds to buy a tanning bed so she can tan during the Alaska winter?!?!?
Shameful. This has got to be enough reason not to make her VP!
Now, are you waiting for Palin to be accused of yet another horrible crime/scandal: removing the tags on pillows when it clearly says "do not remove this tag under penalty of law". That will be something to talk about!
Sounds like the Media is getting too desperate to hurt Palin!

What's odd about the tanning bed story is that her "people" advised the press that she uses the tanning bed to treat depression which could stem from too little light. So that means she is potentially depressed. Is she being treated for her depression? Is she on medication? Why would her people say this if its not true. Whether or not she has a tanning bed is no biggie (though it shows her to be rather vain and silly in protecting her skin from wrinkles), but a VP who is clinically depressed? A bit scary, depending on whether or not she's on her meds.

She should talk to John McCain about the dangers of skin cancer. Tanning beds are a bad idea.

I'm begging you!!! Please get some new material, preferably material with substance, but I know that that is probably asking for too much. So please, new material at least!

Brings back memories of Eagleton. For the youngsters here, for a short period of time he was McGovern's VP running mate in the 1972 Presidential election. He was removed from the ticket after it became known he had a history of mental illness.
McGovern went on to be defeated by Nixon in a landslide (McGovern only won 3 states). Nixon of course ultimately went on to Watergate, resignation, and infamy. Watergate was the original "gate," from which the gimmick of adding -gate to name scandals involving cover-ups derived. Troopergate is the latest.

You are kind of reaching there, aren't you? And showing your ignorance. I'd be depressed too if there were 18 hours or more of darkness a day. But that being said, SAD (seasonal affective disorder) is not the same as clinical depression that you would take medications for.

You people are really desperate and/or VERY uninformed as to what is classified as clinical depression. SAD (seasonal affective disorder) is not clinical depression and it is not mental illness. With Barack's history of crack usage, though, he might have some depression/mental illness. When you use a drug like that it changes the chemistry of the brain.

Apologies about this and to anyone that is effected by these serious issues, whether SAD or clinical depression. I didn't mean to demean anyone or make light (no pun intended) of depression and I'm sorry.
I heard that her people had said it was to address depression. Perhaps I misheard this since no one else seems to know about this.
Honestly though, isn't it rather "elitist" to have a tanning bed in your very own home? I didn't know blue collar hunters were into that sort of thing.
