The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is reviewing complaints from both Americans and Canadians about a Web site columnist who recently described Sarah Palin’s supporters as “white trash,” compared the vice presidential candidate to a “porn actress” and called her daughter’s boyfriend a “redneck” and “ratboy.”

On the same day, Britain’s Guardian newspaper published another column by Mallick in which she trashed Palin’s home state of Alaska as a “frontier state full of drunks and crazy people.”

In the CBC story, Mallick wrote that John McCain’s running mate “added nothing to the ticket that the Republicans didn’t already have sewn up, the white trash vote.”

She proceeded to write that the Alaska governor “has a toned-down version of the porn actress look favored by this decade’s woman, the overtreated hair, puffy lips and permanently alarmed expression.”

CBC Ombudsman Vince Carlin told FOXNews.com that he has gotten “quite a few complaints about [the column], both from Canada and the U.S,” and said he’s reviewing its contents to see if it meets CBC’s journalistic standards and practices.

I would be stunned if they did anything. Canada is much more lax in that type of thing than we are. Having said that, I'm not even sure we would do anything about it either no matter how poor the taste in writing it was.

There is nothing remotely "journalistic" about those rants. She should be sacked.

LOL..... I'm sorry but this is just soo funny... pouty lips. overtreated hair, and permanently alarmed expression.. LOL...
the lady is a canadian for christ sake.. what are you gonna do.. march the national guard up there and demand her resignation? LOL...
"she just went too far"
Its one thing to be an american and have a vested interest in the election and go to far.. its another to just be a foreigner with an opinion..

If I wasn't an american and didn't care about the country because it's my home.. I'd probably be making fun of it all too...
get over yourselves...

good grief...

In the article he said she is a columnist not a journalist could that make a difference?

There are still standards. The newspaper is responsible for all of the content it chooses to print. Doesn't matter what she calls herself or whether she's on staff or a free-lancer.

Republicans should be accustom to extremely negative foreign press esp since Bush. Worldwide, the globe want Obama as president as a way to redeem America from all the hatred Bush generated. If McCain were to win, I think the foreign press would be just as negative. But once Obama becomes president, our standing in the world will improve immensely.

Why is that because he is a puppet? Because he is to stupid to know what goes on in the real world. the only hatred bush has generated is with the terrorists and I could give a **** about what they think.

The "everyone does it now!" argument is childish. Hardly what one would expect from those demanding the ever-nebulous CHANGE!

The foreign press has had a field day with Obama's "messianic" image so why would you think they'll just LOVE America and Obama? He seems like a bore when you take away the stadium, fainting ninnies, Oprah, and the teleprompter.

Don't be silly. If you can't at least acknowledge what every reasonable Republican knows then you become nothing more than a blind partisan. Everyone, esp Bush\Cheney know that the world, in general, view them w/ extreme negativity. That is no lie or misconception. The only country that embraced Bush was Bulgaria of all places since he was the first American president to visit their country. Otherwise the overwhelming animosity toward Bush has been unlike any former US president. Riots & major demonstrations against Bush occurred every time he set foot in other countries, esp our allies
