Because..... these Republicans are hiding something on this Palin troopergate. All of their lack of assistance, tells me I smell something rotten and it must be something that would destroy them before the election. Why else the big hush, hush? People are not that stupid and can figure this out which isn't too difficult.

Its called Executive Spousal Privilege and if I spent the next year and a half I am sure that I can find it in the Alaska constitution.

Alternately it is called invoking one's 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination, preemptively speaking.

He's not testifying because he is part of yet another GOP family that doesn't respect the rule of law.

The person in charge of the committee wants to report on findings earlier and made a statement it would be a shocker, before the investigation was fully under way. He later said he shouldn't have said it, but the bias is still out there, giving the impression that he'll slant the report. They backed off on cooperation because of this, feeling the investigation would not be done in a non-partisan manner. They now favor going through the normal process which starts outside the legislature.

Like any good politicians, everything that can be hidden in order to consume the enemy's resources while they're looking under every rock possible instead of directing those resources to my damaging pursuits.

You sound like this is your first election.

It's funny how Republicans are all for the rule of law when it comes to illegal aliens

But they couldn't care less when one of their own ignores a subpoena.

In Alaska, it is against the law to ignore a subpoena. Punishable by up to 1 year in jail.

This is what's wrong with the GOP. They've given up any principles they once had.

They're ideology basically boils down to those in power are above the law.

I suspect the subpoena is illegal. That's why I'm not worried about it. In the months to come, he'll be tried and then we'll know if he violated the law.
