Indeed, both the McCain and Obama campaigns have similar concerns about the vice-presidential matchup in St. Louis: that Ms. Palin, of Alaska, as a new player in national politics, or Mr. Biden, of Delaware, as a loquacious and gaffe-prone speaker, could commit a momentum-changing misstep in their debate.
It seems that short answers could benefit (foot in mouth) Biden too. It doesn't surprise me that gumbo31 didn't include this in his assertion.
I don't think any special rules have to be made for Sarah Palin. I was looking forward to Biden showing us what he really is. America had already decided they did not want him for President. What was Obama thinking? Or is he the only one who agreed to run with the loser.
Isn't funny that the repubs liked Sara because she wasn't part of the "Old School Washington"...but now they have to change the rules to help her out when she comes up against it!!!!
This is who they want as 1st in line to the President.
A friggin amatuer so inexperienced, so without knowledge ,that she would humiliate herself if allowed to speak for periods of time much longer than a sound bite.
Does Mccain and his camp realize how weak this really makes her look? For anyone to still support them is a joke and a farce.
Obamatrons need to constantly defend their candidates. Palin/McCain supporters don't. Palin and McCain have records of accomplishments to stand on unlike Obama.
"McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive."
Perhaps this is being done to protect Biden from being shredded and over reacting as she picks him apart.
