We have seen the reckless lack of research and judgement that McCain displayed when picking his vice president. Dispite his poor health and age, he didnt consider what would be good for America....he made a political choice to secure the most right wing aspects of the party, even if the choice was at the cost of his integrity and honor and it turns out of his own dignity and place in a Palin/McCain administration. How that must rankle a once proud man.

What could we expect of a President McCain when it was time to choose a Supreme Court judge or even a federal court judge? We know better than to think he would consider Country or Justice. He would no longer need to answer the same constituency that got him elected...but judgeships would become currancy of the realm....being used to replace fairness, leadership and honor in pursuing Presidential ambition.

George Will, one of the strictest of Republicans and observing since the Nixon days, says the same thing about the wisdom of allowing someone so thoughtless to appoint judges:

[T]he more one sees of his impulsive, intensely personal reactions to people and events, the less confidence one has that he would select judges by calm reflection and clear principles, having neither patience nor aptitude for either.
- George F. Will - McCain Loses His Head - washingtonpost.com

It's a great op ed about McCain's out-of-control, untrustworthy temperament in general.

You mention that he's replaced his integrity and honor. I dont know that he ever really had that. Yes he was a POW, but he's been many other things since then, including a crooked Senator. All these missteps in his career he's said were "learning experiences" - every one. Well, arent you supposed to do what's right if you have integrity and/or honor? And arent you supposed to learn from your mistakes? The Will article brings into high relief that McCain appears to have learned nothing from the Keating 5 "learning experience."

It's sad, but maybe just garden variety sad.

ya, Obama has earmarked almost a $1 billion and has only been a politician for 5 years.

imagine how much it would be if he wasn't campaigning. probably be $2-3 billion

On the other hand, Obama's first test was to SHOW US what sort of "Change" he was committed to bringing to Washington, and instead of reaching outside of Washington, he went REEEEALY deep into Washington and chose Biden, who is almost as old as McCain and has spent even longer years in Washington than McCain.

He failed that test and failed to show his committment to change. "Good judgment" indeed!

Besides, if Obama (or his supporters) truly cared about a QUALIFIED person running the country, he would do what's best for the country and DROP OUT of the race.

I don't know how healthy a person can be with 4 instances of melanoma.

Um, this thread is about how unqualified McCain has become. The rest of your post doesnt make any sense. A VP should be chosen for INexperience, you're saying?

Nice tries at deflection. Can't you come up with anything to defend your candidate?

Regardless of health, shouldn't any presidential candidate make their choice of VP based on the possibility they could die while in office? It can happen to anyone, even the healthiest person.

Absolutely..! There should be no other criteria for choosing a running mate than on life expectancy. It would behoove him to find someone young, in perfect health, with a family history of long life, and then make sure they live in an environmentally controlled bubble. That person should never travel in a car of plane, or engage in any kind of risky behavior.
Yes, I am laughing at your suggestion. People of every age and health condition die every day. Dumbo could get run over by a bus tomorrow. standing on the curb, his wings, err, I mean ears, could get sucked in by the vacuum of the passing bus and suck him right up..
Try an argument that makes at least a little sense.. You sound like a demo....!

Lol, how does someone BECOME "unqualified"?

And sorry, but the definition of "experienced" doesn't mean you HAVE to pick someone from the Washington old guard.

This thread is yet one more whiny @ss post about Sarah Palin. The girl who stole Bobo's "change" schtick. That makes you mad, and so now, you all care about "qualifications" and "experience."

I call BS. If you cared about that crap, you wouldn't be voting Obama.
