What difference is John Mccain going to make? Honestly. Other than him showing up and taking photos what can he or Obama do?

McCain is suspending his campaign for one reason. To save face. When he loses the election, he can say it is because he quit campaigning while Obama did not. It's a way to preserve his ego.

John McCain is NOT needed in Washington. In fact he will only inflame the siuation. The Democratic contingent will not be happy to give any reason for McCain to get any credit from this deal. The deal will be reached, with or without McCain. No one is going to look up in the sky and scream "Is it a bird, is it a plane, No its John McCain" Does he really think that he is kidding anyone with this "roll the sleeves up and get this done" B/S. If he had really been concerned about this problem, why didn't he "get it done" when he first mentioned it in 05? Oh i forgot he wasn't pandering for presidential votes back then.

I've seen this comment a few times on this thread and I'm just wondering ... how does the thread title not match the post? Seems pretty much in sync to me!!

This is such a stretch it's laughable. McCain has decided to focus and concentrate on his CURRENT job which is as a State Senator. Obama, on the other hand, never even settled in long enough to realize that being a Senator is his job first and foremost. He's been a candidate for President longer than he was a Senator so I honestly think that Barack believes his job is being a "candidate". Whatever will he do if he actually gets the job of President? I worry about that.

If there is an ego to be preserved it is Obama's. McCain is self assured and not ego driven at all.

Is that so? The only candidate who has worked both sides of the aisle? I think you're very wrong on this. McCain will most like bring balance and sanity to the discussion this morning. If anyone is not needed in Washington, it's Barack. Still .... it's where he should be.

The only reason they needed or wanted McCain there is to get his republicans in line because many in the GOP would not vote for the bill. Apparently, things are MUCH closer now and McCain is NOT NEEDED.

Reid was on CNN telling McCain to STAY HOME! McCain should have been there last week when the GOP was giving everyone a hard time.

Obama already had the DEMS in line for the most part. The bill just needs tweeking.

They don't want him there.
That's not what Reid and the dems were saying on Tuesday. They were begging McCain to tell them what to do.

YouTube - Harry Reid: McCain Needs To Tell Us What To Do On Bailout

Quote:
“We need, now, the Republicans to start producing some votes for us. We need the Republican nominee for president to let us know where he stands and what we should do.”
Meanwhile, obama can "call his in".

McCain will roll in, pound out a deal between the dems and reps, which could not have been done without him, as the dems admit - "without McCain on board, this deal won't fly". He has shown true leadership, obama seems to think he is not needed on this issue.

Obama to Reid

I am voting " PRESENT" again.

Obama looks like a total nutcase.

So when we are in a major crisis is this what he will do as President, call in?

Get real people. McCain just made Obama appear useless.

By the way, McCain will come out ahead on this one. Wait and see.
