Let's see, what was Lincoln doing in 1864, or Hoover and Roosevelt in 1932, or Roosevelt again in 1944, or we can go on and on. The fact is that real government leaders have to deal with many serious subjects at essentially the same time all the time, and every four years get out there and campaign no matter what.

This move by McCain is the most blatant political stunt in my lifetime. He is not on the Banking Committee, has already said that he does not understand economics, and proved it last week with his 'the economy is sound' nonsense. He can give the folks in Congress an idea of what he will find as an acceptable solution while he continues to campaign. (As I put in a post earlier, I knew he didn't know how to use a computer or send an email. I did not know that he didn't know how to use a phone either!) When they find one he can show up and vote on it.

The real motive is clear: delay the debates for both McCain and Palin so that they can cram some more.

Wow, biggest political stunt in your lifetime, which goes back to at least 1864...

p.s. since you show your ignorance on the issue, you can not vote by phone..

Yes, it's all quite alarming that people are actually going to vote for him, isn't it?

Yes, it is alarming that people will vote for someone who puts himself above the country and his job.. Oh wait, that would be Obama supporters..

I could have been clearer (and have edited the post to do so): he can consult by phone about what legislation he would sign off on. As I indicated, he can then show up and vote. But thanks for the name calling anyways . . .

I guess when you are really senile and disease prone, you can't do more than one thing at a time, but that doesn't seem to stop him from trying to pander for votes with this stunt though. Only idiots would fall for this stunt, but they already vote for him anyway.

What's sad is that people actually think that Papa Smurf is going to sweep in and save the day! Please ... the ego on this guy. This is his second platant political stunt and so far, stunt numero uno has gone *poof* and this one is falling like a lead balloon.

Anyone wanna bet what his next stunt will be ... hmmmm, the flight suit has already been done ... hmmmmmm anyone?

What part of that was "name calling", calling you ignorant is not calling you a name, unlike people calling me an idiot, which the previous posting did. Ignorant means you lack knowing a fact, period.. its not a personal attack.. Try looking it up in a dictionary instead of being ignorant..

Really, McCain Cannot Campaign and Do His Senate Job Too??

This certainly appears to be the case.
