McCain Now Want to Suspend VP Debate
John McCain's campaign now wants to suspend the VP debate?
CNN's Dana Bash reports that McCain officials are "trying to negotiate with the Obama campaign and the presidential debate commission" to change next Thursday's planned vice presidential debate into a McCain-Obama affair. The VP debate would be postponed to another date.
"That is what they are proposing," Bash reported. "[McCain officials] understand very well that both the Obama campaign and the debate commission have no intention of delaying Friday's debate, but...if there is no bailout deal by Friday, McCain has no plan to go to debate."

Ah-ha, so it IS Palin who they are worried about.
She has not memorized the talking points and the scripted responses yet.
If she had been more engaged in national and international politics during her earlier years she would not be struggling so now. How can you pick a person with, not only such little qualification, but who has demonstrated a total lack of interest to this point?

After seeing Palin's voice shake with fear from the intimidating stares of Katie Couric, no wonder they decided to tuck tail and run away from any unscripted moments. This campaign is a joke.
Maybe you guys should admit this for the embarrassment that it is, and just protest vote the Ron Paul endorsed Constitution Party candidate.

Isn't it strange that George W. Bush asked Obama and McCain to join him in Washington tomorrow, just one day before the debate? Now they want to "postpone" the VP debate.
The Republicans are doing their best to steal another election. I've never been a passionate person when it comes to politics, but I'm ready to explode. Whatever happened to democracy? I'm sure McCain called up his buddy after Obama said he didn't want to suspend the presidential debate. Or maybe he saw Palin tell Katie Couric "I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you" when asked if she could give any examples where McCain asked for more regulation and realized she needs a lot more coaching.
In any case, it's no coincidence that McCain is down in the polls and now he wants to suspend his campaign "for the good of America." Baloney! I thought the economy was sound?

Palin's usual overconfidence was practically non-existent in Katie Couric's interview, there's no way she can pull off a debate.

Is this a three ring circus with the McCain campaign? OMG You can only muzzle the women for just so long. If Katie and Charley scared her, she hasn't seen anything yet.

It's not up to Obama, it's up to the Debate Board or whatever they are, the committee.
He studied, they didnt. She was meeting Karzai et al. yesterday instead of practicing. Had plenty of time to do that.
Not his problem if they're not ready.
I hope this committee has the b*lls to just go on with what's right and fair.
Wow, she must be really, really, REALLY terrible!

Sorry for my second comment, but I am so outraged by all of this garbage! All of a sudden Bush decides that the entire country will fall apart on Monday? It is obvious that McCain is hoping people will forget that he said the economy was fundamentally sound a week ago.
First they try to convince us that Palin is ready to step into the Presidency and now they want to train her for a debate. I'm still upset that the Democrats agreed to change the format, since it would have been better for the voters to see an exchange of ideas between the candidates. She's either ready or she isn't. I hope the American people can see through all this deception. Forget Gibson, Couric or Biden. What about Putin? Chavez? Will she say "I'll get back to you" during a crisis?

I was suprised at the Dems agreement to change the format for her as well, but maybe that was all they were going to give and now they can dig their heels in...let's hope .
