Please! I have to put in a disclaimer that I have no authority or legal standing to actually take away someone's freedom of speech? It's a figure of speech for crying out loud.

Way to detract from the real issue.

Words guide thought... Your thoughts are molded when exposed to a repetitive message. Because it's a figure of speech only reflects how common suppression of thought is in our society.

Regarding your authority or standing to suppress freedom of speech, if you want to voice your opinion, I suggest you respect the right of others to express theirs... or else, one day, you may find that your figure of speech becomes the actual belief of your countrymen.

The real issue was resolved on the first page. The rest of it is just noise.

go out to the woods nearest your home. dig a hole about 4 ft deep, camofage it with local vegitation and sit in it for 3 days without getting out for any reason, then go back to the homeless shelter and see if you notice any difference.

Until you have done that - you have NO RIGHT to question anything he did.

Thank you ROC. You'd agree some threads from the Left are as despicable as some from the Right?

Yes. That was the whole point. To me this is over the line.

I don't want McCain to be President. But this thread is not fair to him.

Bud
No. But saying "I was a POW" OVER AND OVER AND OVER is trying to play up the "war hero" thing. It's pretty tasteless actually. Kind of how it's tasteless to keep invoking "9/11" endlessly and lording it over the people(aka that disgusting display at the RNC.)

His RNC speech was better suited for the local VFW hall. For what it was, it was a great speech, but it came at a time and place where I was hoping to hear how exactly he was going to be any different from what we've had for eight years.

Nothing McCain might've said while he was in captivity should be a topic of discussion, nor should the notion that being a POW in and of itself qualifies him as president have any merit - something that, incidentally, this whole thread lacks.

Ahhh, you must have missed what I said about that;

No, I didn't miss it, nor was any of my post directed at you.
