The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 49% of the vote while John McCain earns 46%. Other than the bounces related to his convention and speech in Berlin, this is the first time Obama has had 49% support on back-to-back days since early July.

2 points.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - General Election: McCain vs. Obama

Throw out the ABC outlier and it's basically a tie.

Who cares?

Since WHEN did you not care about polls? Especially when McCain was up a few weeks ago. I guess you only care when it's do your advantage.

I think all of the troubled discussions concerning the current economic situation has hurt McCain by a few points nationally.

However, I suspect the topic to lessen as an agreement is reached in the very near future, and the focus to be more on the debates.

I'm not even going to bother looking at polls between now and the end of the last debate. After that, I'll start monitoring them very closely, especially Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.
