In other words, maybe we'll just forget about it. They'll think of a good distraction!

This is so transparent. Can you imagine if neither one of them shows up for their debates?
Okay, he didn't commit to a date. It's a little more complex than simply saying, "Palin's free Monday at 9, why don't we talk then."

There is no chance that they will not have the debates. This is a non-issue.

OK, so they show up for the vote. The vote is not happening tomorrow at 8PM, is it?

I'm not sure what time the vote is scheduled to take place.

It's not about Palin. It's about allowing them to be in Washington and there already being a time that could work for the debate.
Why cant McCain - and Palin - do the debates?

On Frday the debate will take maybe 12 hours at the worst, from DC - Oxford - DC door to door. That includes travel to, drive in, settle in, makeup, practice or whatever, and the debate, the wind down, and travel back.

Plus they and their aides have cell phones.

Think big picture; I'll spell it out. He proposes staying in Washington to get this completed. That would cancel the debate. He was mentioned an option for another debate time and then to have the VP debate at another time. The reason for this entire discussion is to work on the economic package; Palin is not the reason. That was my point.

She's got until October 2 to study. They've known this was the deadline since before they even hired her.

You know what they're trying to do.

It is given that it requires having reporters, media, a location etc. You don't just say let's go here and talk. The logistics are already in place for a debate.

So, if tomorrow, no vote is scheduled, there should be no problem holding the debates then.

Obama should commit to tomorrows debate and the committee should allow Bob Barr to come in.
