Hold on their Pilgrim, they can't really be trying this lame tactic. If McInsane can't show up tomorrow night, I'd send in my wing (wo)man. That is the role of the VP, to go to events that the President(elect) cannot attend.

LOL, multi task much? There's little they can do in Washington anyway. They need to focus on the debates, and congress should do the right thing by rejecting the bail out. It is after all, what thousands upon thousands of their constiituents are demanding via mail, phone, and email. It would be wise to listen [for once]. Next step, shut down the Federal Reserve for overstepping it boundaries for far too many years. The answer to your problems is not more credit/more inflation.

If he hadnt spent so much time fooling around in New York - about 24 hours - he'd have had more time before Friday to "work on the economic package."
So he goes to the debate, then comes back Friday night/Sat. am and keeps working.
Why is that difficult? A president MUST be able to do things like this, you know.

Or for crying out loud, he's Mr. Semantics. Of course, it's all about Palin. Wasn't it just a few days ago, when McCain was negotiating a tightly rehearsed, scripted, and narrated VP debate with little cross chatter, and in return for this, McCain offering a more lenient Prez debate?
They are afraid of what she might say, and how the media will spin it, it's that simple. That being said, I hope the Prez debate goes on... I'm looking forward to McCain, the bumbling buffoon...

Yup... he likens nicely to Stalin locking himself in a room for a couple of weeks after his best mate Hitler said, oh, by the way... we're invading your country. Maybe it's too much pressure for his old ticker. He certainly plays like an idiot on national news when they play his clip over and over, where he asks Obama to join him in suspending the debate, and Obama responds with [paraphrase], 'Multi-tasking works well John'.
