Obama; Should thank Bush for saving his chestnuts
Can we all agree that Bush saved obama's little acorns when he "invited" him to DC yesterday?
How would it have looked for Obama to be down in Fl signing posters when the rest of the power brokers and actual leaders were on the Hill trying to save the economy? Inconsequential and small, that's what he would have looked like
He got very lucky - but as it is, obama has been following in Mac's wake.

We can agree. Bush saved his butt.
I was hoping Obama would stay in Florida and keep training for how to "cheat on the debate". He was practicing on how to add this crisis into this debate when it was suppose to be about foreign policy.
McCain called his bluff and Obama is pissed because he wont get to be the hero now by changing the theme.
The real reason Obama is pissed is because he will not get to scam the people with his plan.

The committee was charged with working out the details, and then when a proposal is sent to the floor, all of the senate would become involved in the debate. In the meantime, Obama has made it patently clear precisely which issues he has with the current proposal, including that there should be no blank check, there must be transparency on each transaction, executive pay on banks seeking assistance must be limited, and homeowners must be protected from fraudulent mortgages as well. Obama understands that there are telephones, email, and the media to get his message and issues out, and give his direction regarding this crisis and how this bill should be structured.
What EXACTLY has McCain done on this issue, aside from declaring an emergency need to go to Washington and then taking 24 hours to get there from NY (which is less than a 2 hour flight). McCain was at the meeting and offered NOTHING in the way of leadership or suggestions. Be precise people, other than his publicity stunt, what has McCain determined or proposed regarding this situation??

sorry but he is a senator. he should be in washington for the single most important legislation in 85 years. i know he looks out of place, cause he hasn't been there since he defaulted into the position as senator. he doesn't know his way around or know anybody. but lets at least pretend he knows how to change something...he can at least be present and not just vote present!!

He would have looked like, 'he's accomplishing more'.
This is little that a bunch of old a$$hat cronies can do to stem the tide of what is happening... the market is smarter than you, me, them, Bush, Obama, and McCain.
Best thing to do would be to liquidate these companies; let the market guide interest rates, and get through a tough and bumpy (but needed) recession.

What role do believe McCain and Obama plays in the negotiations? Why is it important for both candidates to be present?
================================================== ==
"By midnight, it was hard to tell who had suffered a worse evening, Bush or McCain. McCain, eager to shore up his image as a leader who rises above partisanship, was undercut by a fierce political squabble within his own party’s ranks.
The consequences could be worse for Bush, and for millions of Americans if the impasse sends financial markets tumbling, as some officials fear. Although talks were resuming Friday, it wasn’t clear how many House Republicans would participate.
Republicans and Democrats alike seemed unsure which way McCain was leaning. His campaign’s statement late Thursday shed little light."

Neither of them are on the committee that does anything regarding the bailout.
Obama said from the beginning that he would come to Washington if he was needed. Bush invited him, told him he was needed, and he came like he said he would.
Bush didnt save anyone. A president needs to know how to multi-task. McCain obviously cant since he needed to go to Washington and sit around to do nothing while Obama campaigned, prepared for the debate, and communicated with Washington while travelling.

Both Obama and Mac are the leaders of their parties. They should be there to face the worse crisis since WWII.
