I was thinking about this the other day: that no matter who wins the White House in November, the prospect that future presidential elections will not seem as exciting or "fresh" if they don't include at least one non-white, straight, Christian male on the ticket.

Would John McCain's campaign have received the much-needed jolt of enthusiasm had he picked an ordinary white guy like Tim Pawlentey as his running mate?

And with the historic tickets we now have in the 2008 election, is it very likely that future candidates and their running mates will be very diverse? Is our nation's first openly-gay president, first female president, or first Asian-American president, all just around the corner? Or is this just a fluke in history, and will we revert back to boring old white guys after this election season?

Fellas get used to a changing political landscape, the country will be majority minorities by 2042. There will be an increasing number of brown, black, yellow and female candidates in the upcoming years.

Change is good. I think the Nanny state will be the order of the day by then though. I don't see the meaning of the Constitution lasting much beyond the next generation. All the 'living document' crap etc...

Democrats will be the first to nominate a member of another species, and they will choose an endangered one.........perhaps a silverback gorilla. He will do better than Clinton (and have better manners) as well as anyone else they can send up.

This is what happens when you allow women and "minorities" to get educations. Tragic really. Bottom rail getting on the top.
