Straight answers, from both sides.
Please don't turn this thread into a bi-partisan one. Pretend you are analyzing from the outside in and have absolutely no interest in either party. Do not let you personal political opinions dictate your answers. BE HONEST!
1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?

1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
No, Biden was an odd choice for a 'change' candidate. I don't think Hillary wanted the post. Obama would have this in the bag had his vp pick been someone with a record of bipartisanship, perhaps even going to a rep and having had hagel.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
Good god no! He should have had either romney or if he wanted to be more daring, leiberman. Either would have been excellent choices...far far better then palin.
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
Yes, and that is no slur against obama. I do believe he thought this campaign was his 'dry run' for the 2012 election.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
No, mccain is many things but he not another bush.
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
Not in US history, but I think he and pelosi are neck and neck for most liberal and that lack of bipartisanship is the main thing that keeps me from voting for obama.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
No, it will take more then mccain or obama to sink us.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
Toughy. I give mccain an edge for this one, because if hard choices had to be made, I think he would be able to make them and make them fast. Obama I'm afraid would be hesitant to act decisively and timely, and I fear that he would be apt to believe another world leaders 'word' over hard evidance to the contrary.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
No, we cannot afford all the goodies that have been promised.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
|
I truly and honestly believe that both candidates love themselves, love fame, and love power. Beyond that, we can only hope there is a spark of loyalty and patriotism in both of them.

Since I won't be voting for either of these clowns, I'd be happy to do this.
1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
No. But he needed someone with foreign policy experience and a long tenure in the public eye.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
Absolutely not. It was a political choice rather than a conservative.
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
The only people with Presidential experience are former Presidents. So yes, everyone will have some on the job training.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
McCain is more of a military might kinda of person. He also has a habit of out Democrating the Democrats (immigration, campaign finance reform)
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
In history, no.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
Nope. I believe that will happen regardless. Both advocate excessive government spending. They only differ on the things they want to buy.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
Thomas Jefferson. But he's dead.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
Nope. And neither does he. He said something to that effect this past week.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
Absolutely. Nowhere else in the world can two people so completely unqualified to be President actually have a shot at the Oval Office.

1. Did obama pick the best potential running mate?
professionaly, yes. Politically, no. He didnt play politics with his pick
2. Did mccain pick the best potential running mate?
professionally, no. Politically, yes. He picked a woman to go after hillary voters.
3. Do you think obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
yes, so would mccain. Only presidents have presidential experience.
4. Do you really think mccain is bush, or do you see a difference?
yes, mostly. No, sometimes
5. Do you really believe obama is the most liberal senator in us history?
no
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does not win?
the country will never "fall apart" but we wont evolve and get ahead unless we change the makeup up washington.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of wwiii, whom do you want leading our country?
the question should be "how do we avoid a wwiii"?.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? Ie. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
he himself already said he now probably can't deliver everything because of this new debt. He's already been honest about it.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
yes

1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
Nope. He should have picked Hillary.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
I think he made a brilliant pick; choosing a woman. I wasn't expecting that and I think it was a brilliant move. I think Sarah will be fine. I would have loved for him to pick Condi Rice but by all accounts she wasn't interested in by P or VP either one, so...
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
Yes, but to be fair so will Palin.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
I see a difference. I don't think they are the same but then I don't have a problem with Bush either.
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
Probably.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
I think if Obama is elected he will lead us in a direction we don't want to go as a country, toward a one world government and socialism.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
Definitely McCain.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
Not unless he raises taxes, and not just on the rich.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
I think McCain does. I can't say for sure about Obama but I kind of think he wants to be president more than he loves the country.

1. No. I think Chuck Hagel would have better represented the "change" and bipartisan message.
2. NO. Pretty much anyone would have been better.
3. Yes, a bit. I don't think it will slow him down though. I don't think anyone is ready on day one.
4. There is a difference. I think it is too minor a difference for my tastes.
5. No. Not at all.
6. I certainly hope not, but I can't be sure. Our country seems held together with duct tape anymore.
7. Obama. No doubt I think that a person who is less trigger happy is better for all involved.
8. Yes, but I will say I could see it failing.
9. Definately. No question.

1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
From a governance point of view, most definitely. From a purely political perspective I don't think so.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
You have to ask?
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
I don't think that there is anything, even the Vice Presidency that can adequately prepare someone for the Presidency. Even someone as experienced as George H.W. Bush found the just the Vice Presidency to be a daunting task.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
Of course I do. They are very different men with very different personalities and life experiences. But having said that there are too many personality traits and political philosophies that they hold in common to make the distinction really worth noting for the purposes of this election.
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
Not by a country mile, and I doubt that anyone who has any inclining about the history of the US Senate would argue affirmatively on this point. For example you couldn't place Obama's name next to Sen. Robert Marion La Follette, Sr who during his tenure in the Senate (1906 to 1925) where he championed numerous progressive reforms such as opposition to WWI, implementation of child labor laws. social security, women's suffrage and actively defended socialist Eugene Debs. Even by modern standards, Obama isn't in the same political universe as a Paul Wellstone, or an outright declared socialist like Sen Bernie Sanders.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
Frankly, it may fall apart regardless of who is elected, so the question becomes, at least for me, who is least likely to do the most harm. On that front I have to go with Obama. Remember the President is only one of three branches of government. Even a Democratic Congress isn't going to write Obama a blank check. Maybe I should rephrase that; a Democratic Congress will not write Obama a blank check because unlike the Republican Party the Democrats are as contentious with their party's leader as the Republicans are toddy towards theirs.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
I want Obama since I firmly and absolutely believe that he has the temperament not to get us into such a war in the first place. Anyway, if its world war three, how much leadership does one need after kicking off a thermo-nuclear exchange?
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
No, and I am an Obama supporter if you haven't figured that out by now. I don't see how it is possible but I would rather a candidate who shoots for the moon only to get part of the way there than one who hasn't any more vision than taking a bus to the launch site.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
Without a doubt.

1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?
No, but I do not have a problem with Biden.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate?
Hell no, with a bullet!!
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins?
Everyone who has ever held this job needed some on the job training.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference?
For the most part politically yes. And McCain is not a draft-dodging loon who cannot get out of the way of his own tongue. He would be a upgrade to Bush.
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history?
Not even close.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win?
No. Like I said, McCain would be an upgrade. If he dies and Palin takes over, all bets are off.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country?
Obama. McCain is showing signs of heading towards the loony bin when under stress.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc?
No. There is no money and no hope of any anytime soon to fund additional programs.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country?
Yes.

1. Did Obama pick the best potential running mate?He didnt pick who I wanted, no.
2. Did McCain pick the best potential running mate? Maybe, for him. For us, God no.
3. Do you think Obama will have some "on the job training" needed if he wins? Of course.
4. Do you really think McCain is Bush, or do you see a difference? No, he's not Bush, but many of the same policies, and the same mindset or even worse, would stay in place.
5. Do you really believe Obama is the most liberal Senator in US history? No, Bernie Sanders is currently.
6. Do you really believe the country will literally fall apart if the candidate you support does NOT win? Whichever one wins it still might fall apart. I dont envy the winner.
7. If, in the next 4 years we find ourselves in the middle of WWIII, whom do you want leading our country? Someone who didnt start it or provoke it... someone who would only declare war or involve troops in a true crisis, in which the people and Congress are behind his decision ... someone who has lined up the strongest collection of loyal allies, and who has been able to convey to other countries the good and admirable side of America... someone down to earth who has known people of all walks of life from around the world, and can speak with and listen to other leaders without a lot of games (but can see through games) ... someone who can choose and inspire (and be inspired by) excellent generals... who is "savvy" enough to recognizes trouble before it happens... who can command an army - and take good care of that army, and honor those who fall.
8. Do you really believe with the economy heading the way it is, Obama can still make good on all his promises for the people? IE. Health insurance, college funding, etc? The "promises" he made in 2007? Of course not, and he has said as much.
9. Do you truly and honestly believe in your heart both candidates sincerely love this country? Yes, or else - among other things - they wouldnt both be calling out for "change."
