Yeah, well bentlebee thinks that quote is taken out of context.

With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Kissinger, speaking Monday at George Washington University along with four other former U.S. State Department secretaries, said the next president should initiate high-level discussions with Iran "without conditions," ABC News reported.
Couldn't get any higher level than the President!

Maybe it was. Maybe he meant to say

"Military men and women are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy."

Obama indicated that he, as President, would meet with rogue leaders in his first year without precondition.
Did Obama make any mention that he would have talks work their way up to President? A year is a long time to get things done.

Some more pseudo-intelligence from Kissinger:

"Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac."
"Intelligence is not all that important in the exercise of power, and is often, in point of fact, useless."
"It is an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the President from ordering assassination."
"In the 1950s and 1960s we put several thousand nuclear weapons into Europe. To be sure, we had no precise idea of what to do with them."

Oh my.

Actually, I had to do a double take since I thought I was cutting/pasting some Stalin or Lenin quotes.

"High Level" discussions include the Under Secretary of State or the Secretary of State - not necessarily the President

Did I say I liked Obama?

Obama also did not refer to comrade Kissinger as his friend.

Show me where Obama said that he would be the ONLY one included in talks.
