The only time Obama looked at McCain was when he was mad.
If you people judge this debate on who looked at who then you should not be voting at all.

Sorry if Straight talkin Johns direct and brusk manner offends you but it has a ring of honest authenticity to this listener

I tried to rep you, but evidently I had repped you before.
I thought McCain showed great restraint. I had difficulty watching him myself. Usually when I see him on TV I change channels.

Yes, actually that was the format of the debate -- a face-to-face discussion on the issues, each question the candidates were supposed to talk to each other about the issues. So yeah, it was in the rules. And the podiums were pointed towards each other. Obama was comfortable facing his opponent, why not McCain?
Did you even see this debate???

McBush was the big liar throughout the debate. The fact checkers will tear him a new one on the debate.

Yes I did. They were angled slightly..... Not facing each other.
Often I refuse to look at someone I detest and will barely acknowledge them when I am speaking.
Martial arts since I was 18 and I am 45 now rules out intimidation.
Its just not that big of a factor to me.
The answers were what mattered. Boh held their own and it was a close debate. As I have said before neither convinced me that they are worthy of my vote.

But no eye contact with your opponent? Even if you detest them, can you not at least meet their glance when they are glaring right at you? Surely, even in martial arts, looking away is not a position of power. It's a position of weakness. My question is why??

...I was thinking the same thing. How is McCain going to look all of these other world leaders in the eye when he cannot even do it in a debate????
