During the debate John McCain said, “we must never torture a prisoner ever again.” I think this is huge and I suspect we will be hearing more about this as people realize just exactly what he said.

Will the Bush administration chide McCain for this or Democrats bring light to this?

When this administration repeatedly has stated that we do not torture prisoners and McCain bust out with this, I expect to see this one end up becoming its own story in the days to come.

McCain was one of the most outspoken against some of the interrogation techniques used after 9/11...like water boarding. There is no big surprise here.

No surprise that McCain would take such a stance and I admire the man for having this view. However the catch here is not that McCain believes this but has admitted that this administration does in fact torture prisoners when it has repeatedly claimed it does not. That is the news.

Thank you for stating what should be obvious. McCain has long been outspoken on the practice, and he knows first hand what its like to endure such treatment.

That's one reason he is called a maverick...He's not your average politician.

I guess you folks just don't "get it".

The Bush administration has claimed from day one that it DOES NOT torture prisoners, yet McCain just said we do. So which is it?

McCain always said what they were doing was torture and argued with the administration constantly about it. The administration did not agree, but this was always McCain's posiiton.

McCain has argued not only this point, but many others with this administration.
