CURSE YOU SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN!!!
You all act as if the Republicans only believe in God and Democrats only believe in Science. It's not as simple or cut and dried as that. The two overlap for most people. Many Democrats do believe in God and...yes, even attend Church, but also study/rely on/and believe the various fields of Science, while Republicans (most, not all) believe in God, attend church, and also study/rely on/ and believe the various fields of Science. I have many friends who are Democrats and they can't believe how many people associate the Dems with aetheists and agnostics. I'm not going to get into a Christian debate, but some of you need to realize that you don't speak for your entire party by inferring that only Republicans believe in God and that Republicans dispute Scientific explanations and theories....and that Democrats have faith only in Scientific explanations and theories.

This comment really is a bit offensive.

Please tell me, quickly. Just what are those levels on which you think I may be ignorant?

No way - that clip would have been played over and over again. Remember Bush I looking down at his watch? Same difference.
The "liberal media" is a specific ploy by conservatives to belittle something that does not exist.

Think about what I said. And with consolidation putting the ownership into the hands of around 6 major stakeholders, they are more than willing to toe the Presidents line. Look no further than the run up to Iraq.

It was pathetic and sad, no questioning of the evidence, just the video game images and explanations, and the spewing of neocon propaganda.

Please understand that many countries depend on American successes. Now what's with all the ridiculousness about bias? People that claim media bias everywhere are just so ignorant on so many levels.

Americans are prisoners to bias, that is the only explanation for McCain getting 44% support of voters.

The media in this country is a joke. I liked reading about the European media's coverage of Hurricane Katrina, quite more in depth than the whitewash done by the media in the U.S.

Reagan coined the term. He also came up with the idea of Welfare Queens.

VERY true.

The Republican party seems to get its fuel from fear/paranoia tactics, and from the ages-old "we're all against something...so we're all together on something" unification strategy. They find the One Big Thing to be terrified of, they vilify that one thing EXACTLY THE SAME WAY candidate after candidate, year after year (the person/group/country "wants to tear down America," is "secretly in league with (insert_feared_group_of_the_day_here)", is "possibly" a criminal (that seed is planted without having to come up with any actual evidence...I mean once it's out there, it's in the back of people's minds), are mysterious/secret/unknowable/occult in some way, doesn't go to church/is only "superficially" "Christian" but secretly wants to "tear down the moral fabric of Christian society," etc.

These tactics have come NO FARTHER since the various Inquisitions beginning half a millennium ago yet still work just as well. Tell your people to hate one group or thing, and they'll all pull together. They're not for anything--they're against the "evil" thing. But that doesn't matter. Either way, out of fear, you have their vote.

There are several examples that show that the "liberal media bias" is a myth and a lot of people really need to do some homework on that, instead of believing hacks like Hannity. This is one example. A lot of this has to do with ownership that grew up listening (or the same age) as Limbaugh and became brainwashed due to that.

Journalism.org- The State of the News Media 2007 (http://www.stateofthenewsmedia.org/2007/narrative_radio_talk_radio.asp?cat=8&media=9 - broken link)
Liberal Talk: A Future or a Failure?

Talk radio hosts are overwhelmingly political, and overwhelmingly conservative in their ideology, according to talk personality listenership numbers. In fact, of the 40 talkers that made it on the Talkers magazine list of top hosts, only six were liberal (Ed Schultz, Al Franken, Alan Colmes, Randi Rhodes, Stephanie Miller and Lionel).9

Another possible explanation for the lackluster reception for liberal talk radio, some analysts say, is that its conservative competition is inherently more entertaining. As Tom Taylor suggested, conservative “bumper sticker” language is easier to talk about and easier to understand — conservatives stand for cutting taxes and supporting the troops. The progressive stances don’t seem to come in such neat packages — it’s more complicated than, for instance, raising taxes or not supporting the troops.

Others argue that the conservative talk movement is only a response to the rest of the mainstream media, which many conservatives believe is predominantly liberal. It has been an argument for years among some conservatives that NPR is the liberal voice of radio, a claim NPR would dispute. Regardless, it seems too early to tell whether the financial ills and relatively low audience numbers for Air America spell doom for a liberal talk genre.

There seems to be at least one rising liberal talk star, Ed Schultz, the most popular talk radio host of his persuasion on the air with 2.25 million listeners.11 His show, “The Ed Schultz Show,” began broadcasting in January 2004 and airs from Fargo, N.D. In its brief existence, the show is already syndicated to over 100 stations, including 9 of the 10 largest markets, and Sirius Satellite Radio.

The media will go whatever way gets them ratings and money, thats the free market. Thats why they put so much crap on the air to get our attention. Who cares about Palin's daughter, I wanna know more about her foreign policy opinions. I could go on but the media is most often a joke. NPR I've found is the fairest and usually will ask fair questions. Plus they treat people with respect, something we need to hear and emulate more in this country. Fox and CNN are so obviously biased their each way its a joke.

Well, let's just test at least the first three months of Obama's Presidency (if elected).

The television media and the newspaper press will likely praise Barack, and focus less on his executive action than his stunning good looks, socialist vision and all out worthiness of worship.

Ok, one more time. Financially frail GE secreted the oozing puss that we know as SNL, NBC and, the most revolting of all, MSNBC. These malformed corporate larva are working feverishly to deliver up the election to the dems. Why would they want to do that? Perhaps GE would like to be the next corporate piggy to drop its snout in the federal bailout trough? Any chance upper management would receive a bonus were that to occur?
