yeah, it's not really true.

Media Bias: Going beyond Fair and Balanced: Scientific American

Quote:
This past summer, just as the view that journalists were going softer on Barack Obama than on John McCain was becoming widely accepted, CMPA issued a report showing that 72 percent of the statements in TV news reports about Obama in late spring and early summer were negative, whereas 57 percent of the statements about McCain were negative. When Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly attacked Lichter’s method during a radio interview, saying it would embolden liberal bias, Lichter responded, “You can take all my studies or none of my studies”—an allusion to past uses of his work to support conservative views.

What I found interesting is that the guy doing the research has been a regular data miner for Fox News. It's why he called OReilly out on his crap.

Scientific data is against the core beliefs of most Republicans. Everything is based on beliefs and faith, while real data is just ignored and dismissed as fabricated hyperbole.

It is true only for their extreme right wing arm - I do not know what percentage this is of the total Republican population. I know many Republicans who believe in Science, evloution, etc. It is a big tent but only the vocal get noticed. I think probably there are many Democrats in some areas of the US that do not believe in evolution. (PS: I used to be a "liberal" Republican)

Anyway, I agree with you that a lot of them will not budge regardless of any study - science and such is not trusted by some.

If this is true (liberal media bias) then have you ever wondered why that might be? Try thinking about it. Investigative reporters, journalists, writers, all searching for the answers. Perhaps they stumble upon all the lies and half truths of the Republican party then in turn become biased over time.

Thats why I said "most" You know, since so many blanket statements are made on this board, I figured whats good for the goose... (Of course, being a good little dooby liberal, I still qualified it)

Ok first of all Scientific American is just part of the vast liberal biased media machine. So of course they are going to be blatantly biased against McCain just like every media outlet in the world, except of course Fox "News", Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, right-wing talk radio...because they are all fair and balanced.

But besides that...WHO CARES WHAT SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN SAYS...ITS SCIENCE...what a joke! We all know God put Bush and the republicans here on earth to save America from the evil-doerers in iraq and the media. Only left-wing wackos believe in science!
