A new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows 46% of people who watched Friday night's presidential debate say Democrat Barack Obama did a better job than Republican John McCain; 34% said McCain did better.
Obama scored even better -- 52%-35% -- when debate-watchers were asked which candidate offered the best proposals for change to solve the country’s problems.
More than six in 10 people or 63% in the one-day poll, taken Saturday, said they watched the first faceoff in Oxford, Miss. For those 701 people, the margin of error was +/- 4 percentage points.

Before anyone claims that poll is liberal, they have had McCain leading in the recent polls by as much as 10 points.

Looks like the debate effects are perhaps starting to show up in the polls. Rasmussen 9/25-9/27 shows Obama at +6, and apparently the daily Gallup poll is going to show Obama at +8 (according to a spokesman this morning - though it's not officially released yet).

Obama's momentum continues to build.

With early voting and all, I heard Chuck Todd say on MSNBC last week that the leader on Oct. 15th is going to be the winner.

Could well be.

Now it IS true that McCain COULD turn things around - but it's becoming increasingly unlikely, and time is starting to run out. There is still time yet, but not very much.

The vast majority of the polls are showing slow but steady build up by Obama and it's starting to be reflected in the electoral maps - with pretty much all of the most recent changes showing a definite shift in Obama's favor. Where McCain had been "solid" the changes indicate the state is "leaning" in his direction, where the state had been "leaning" towards McCain, the changes are that the state is now a "toss up", where a state had been a "toss-up" it's now "leaning" towards Obama, and where it was "leaning" Obama, it's now "Solid" for Obama.

All good news for Obama and bad news for McCain.

Can that all change?
Of course.
Will it?
I don't think so.

And NewsWeek, one of the most liberal publications, had McCain as winner. Looks to me like there is no clear winner...

I called the debate and said McCain would show up when the dems here said he would not.

I am calling something else.

There will be an October surprise and Obama will go down. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.

He has far to much dirty laundry to go at and so far the media and his protectors have kept him from it. Not any more.

The skeletons will fall on Obama, its a matter of time.

Good luck with that.

I agree, I think this baby is all over. McCain has already won.
Maybe he should get his Presidential seal started!!
