Citigroup is buying Charlotte, NC based Wachovia Bank. I think pretty soon we are going to end up with one big bank in this country and it will probabally be bought out by a bank in China. If Bank of America gets taken over, it will be a big blow to Charlotte, a city that hasnt really been affected by the bad economy in recent years.

And why would this be McCains fault?

If you think about it alittle deeper it would be more Obama then McCain.

This bank lends tons to minorities with poor credit scores and you are pointing at McCain for it.

People are not that stupid I would hope.

And a dem controlled congress is not to blame? uhmmmm

White people can be poor and have bad credit too jackass. Also, do you know how many of those defaulted mortgages are from Home Equity lines of credit? It's not just the sub primes going bad.

The dem controlled congress just started. What about the first 6 years? Or are you just going to blame 9/11 for everything up to when the dems took over. It's the entire administrations fault from Clinton to Bush and all of their cronies.

Its sad. Wachovia bank has its roots here in the Greensboro area of North Carolina. The bank was headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC before Charlotte based First Union Bank aquired Wachovia and moved its headquarters to Charlotte. Its sad to see a bank with so much history being gobbled up.

History in the Wachovia name:

Wachovia, has its origins in the Latin form of the Austrian name Wachau. When Moravian settlers arrived in Bethabara, North Carolina, in 1753, they gave this name to the land they acquired, because it resembled the Wachau valley along the Danube River. The area formerly known as Wachovia now makes up most of Forsyth County, and the largest city is now Winston-Salem.

Sad to hear but I'm surprised Wachovia has held out as long as they have. They've been in trouble for awhile now.

Bill Clinton signed the bill that started all of this.

Why would it be McCain's fault?

Possibly because Obama is the master of spinning the facts and doesn't exactly tell the truth?

It is NOT McCains fault. However whenever it comes to the economy, most people feel Obama is better on the issues and this relates to more bad news for the economy. This whole bail out plan favors Obama because a lot of people relate the bad economy to Bush and Bush to McCain.

agreed. Thats why I say its a plus for Obama. The more bad news we keep hearing, the more this will boost Obama.

Have Bush and his cronies ever taken blame for anything? They just accuse Bill Clinton, the Democrats and/or Liberals for everything and Fox News sells that message to the masses with gorgeous female newscasters and commentators.
