Proof once again that if you make enough statements you'll be right occassionally. A few months back Phil Graham (R-UBS, Paine Weber) called America a "nation of whiners". Doggone if he wasn't right. For the last week EVERYONE has been whining about having to cough up $700B to bail out millionaires.

And by EVERYONE, I really just mean MOST people, including conservative (the real kind) House Republicans, House and Senate Democrats and most taxpayers.

Who has been IN FAVOR of this plan (ie; not WHINERS); The ultra rich who most benefitted from Bush's tax cuts, George Bush and his Treasury Secretary (in the first group, but worth mentioning twice), and Jim Cramer. Oh well, whatever is good for the rich has to be good for ME. I know because Reagan's advisors told me so.

Remember, this is the same Graham who pushed for NO OVERSIGHT of the "deriviatives" market. The very thing that sank Lehman Brothers and AIG. Heckuva job Grahammy!

The same guy who spent all his time in the Congress and Senate railing against those "riding in the wagon while others pull". Of course he never SAW A NICKEL IN HIS LIFE from any entity other than GOVERNMENT, until he bailed out of the Senate and took the fat cat job with UBS. Just the kind of guy we want as Treasury Secretary in the McCain/Rove/Palin administration.

My question is, How in the heck is McCain above 35% in ANY poll? Must be the "hottie" that all the fan boys are gaa gaa over!

Every blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. Still, we're lying in the bed Phil Gramm helped make.

The idea that this cat could become treasury secretary is reason enough to not vote for McCain, who trusts Gramm more than anyone on economic matters - Palin or no Palin.

Regardless of party, a large portion of people don't want more government involvement with the creation of another large wasteful program - socialized healthcare. We see how bad the government has screwed up Social Security over the years. Now we're paying into a "401k" that we'll never see. Sounds fair to me.

You have to understand one thing: Most of America isn't paying attention to the minute by minute happenings like we do. They will vote because they're registered with their party, either party.
