The House Republicans just killed (at least for now) the bailout bill.
How low can the Dow go????
They are reacting to the public rather than the president. Maybe its a good thing.. only time will tell. It won't help Mccain though after suspending his campaign to "help it pass by Monday".
the same obama who didn't know how capital gains taxes worked? no, I am afraid that ron paul was the only one who really seemed to understand economics. this is the fault of corporations giving out bad loans to worthless people. government can't force you to buy a porsche.
but the argument is specious, since lowering the capital gains tax may only have appeared to work when really looting and plundering of the cridt and housing market might have been the real "engine" of growth.
The bail out has officially failed in the house. And a lot of Dems voted against it. Bi-partisan my a-s-s, Pelosi and Frank couldn't even get their own party in line to vote for it
Close to 100 Dems voted Nay
bless their little democratic hearts!!! i love our country!
The market is going to be all over the place today. It's no real indication. Watch the dollar. I expect it to climb high today on this news, not fall. Oil will fall. Neither Obama nor McCain will get a chance to vote on this so it's not an election issue now. Let's move on.
folks this is getting really serious and its te fault of republican leadership. Only Obama can BEGIN to get us out of this mess. The stock market plummeted 600 points!
The bailout may well have been doomed when Bush threw his influence behind it!
Guess we'll have to go with plan B.
What's that? There's no plan B??? Whoops.
