Personally, I believe there SHOULD be a military service requirement to be President. I've stated that awhile back on another thread. But that's a different topic.
That would require a constitutional amendment.

McCain is NOT a Bush clone or a staunch conservative. I don't get why the Dems don't seem to get this when the GOP has understood it all along and fought his candidacy! If I thought for one moment that McCain would be another Bush, I'd write in Hillary's name.
His voting record closely emulates W's.

I voted for Hilary as well. And when she didn't get the nomination, I didn't get terribly upset about theh possibility of a McCain presidency. It wasn't until is VP pick that I seriously considered Obama.

The actuary tables don't present a good picture for McCain. The possibility of Palin becoming the president is a fairly real one.

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not a PUMA. I'm not a Democrat so I don't give a toss about Dem. party unity!

I wanted Hillary's health care plan because I believe she could have delivered it. Obama can't and won't deliver. I'm pro-life and I'm happy for the first time in a long time to be able to vote for a pro-life ticket. The Clintons' take on abortion was to make them legal but rare. Obama is over-the-top on this issue and NO WAY could I morally support his ideals. Unions? Heh, I live in Texas so how are those relevant????!!!!!!!

But the bottom line for me is national security. Frankly, that's one of the few reasons we HAVE a government. Hillary would have represented us well in the world and she's tough as nails. So is McCain. Sorry, but Obama is a pansy. He will vacillate us into chaos if he ever has to be decisive about diplomacy and troop involvement.

I'm a moderate Independent. I vote for Republicans and Democrats. My preference was Hillary but McCain is acceptable. I cannot and will not support a far left liberal on fiscal, security or social issues. If Obama wins, I'll live my life ignoring what's going on in Washington, just as I've done for the last eight years.
They are trying to paint McCain with the same brush as Bush in hopes of deterring people voting for him and instead voting for a inexperienced elitist that wants to be a god!

I'm sure you have given so much to this country, perhaps as much as $124.36 in taxes? Your military service probably equals both obamas and Bidins combined?
